- Unlock the Wertheimer Tower in Orichalcos ImaginistRequired to surface the Octowpus on the world map. Without this teleport, the Track Anomaly function cannot show the truck's live position.
- Track Octowpus from the mapUse the Track Anomaly button. The truck doesn't sit at a fixed point — the navigation line on the ground updates live as it drives.
- Get into a vehicleThe truck is fast. On foot you cannot keep up if it's already several hundred metres ahead. A car or motorcycle works fine.
- Block the truck head-onDrive in front of it and stop. The truck halts, the disguise breaks, and Octowpus reveals its true form. Combat starts immediately.
- Defeat OctowpusStandard anomaly fight. No element gating, no Arc reward — just commission payouts.
Step-by-Step Hunt
- Open the world map and verify the Wertheimer Tower (Unheard Shores) teleport is unlocked. If not, travel there once to register it.
- From the Anomagram, select Invasion! Octopus Trailer! and trigger the Track Anomaly function.
- A navigation line appears on the ground pointing toward the truck's current position.
- Hop into your nearest 4-wheeled vehicle. The truck cruises Coastal Highway Z42 — at the truck's speed, on-foot pursuit is hopeless if you're not already within sight range.
- Catch up to the green trailer truck. Drive past it and stop your vehicle directly in its path, blocking the lane.
- The truck stops. The disguise dissolves and Octowpus materialises in front of you. The encounter begins automatically.
- Fight Octowpus. Standard mid-Hunter combat — no special mechanics or weakness gating to plan around.
- Defeat the boss to complete the commission and collect the rewards.

Pro Tips
- If the navigation line keeps spinning or pointing away, the truck has moved a long way along the highway. Drive ahead toward where the line is converging — the truck loops the same coastal route.
- You don't need to ram the truck head-on. Stopping your vehicle in its lane is enough — the truck's collision detection treats your stopped car as a roadblock.
- On-foot players: don't bother. The truck consistently moves faster than your character's sprint. Always pursue in a vehicle.
- If the disguise reveal cutscene doesn't fire, your blocking position is too far off-centre. Park exactly in the lane the truck is driving in — not the median, not the shoulder.
