TL;DR — 5 Steps
- Travel to the Pink Paws BankNew Herland District, intersection of Oia Avenue and McQueen Phantom Avenue. The building is the visual anchor — you can't miss it from street level.
- Climb the outside of the towerThere are no doors or elevators that take you up. Scale the exterior using ledges, AC units and window frames until you reach the upper section.
- Walk up the stairs to the helipadFrom the upper section, a staircase leads onto the rooftop helipad. The red Torii gate is on the helipad.
- Activate the red ToriiInteract with the gate. A cutscene plays and you're warped to the Anomalous Realm where the Nestbound Bird spawns.
- Bring Cosmos damageZero, Chiz and Edgar all hit the boss's Cosmos weakness. Skia herself is a strong inclusion since the reward Arc is built for her kit.
How to Reach the Anomaly
The Pink Paws Bank tower has no public entrance. You climb the exterior to reach the helipad, where the red Torii gate is the actual anomaly trigger. Plan a mobility character if your climbing tools are limited.
- Open the world map and fast-travel to the closest New Herland District point. Walk or drive to the intersection of Oia Avenue and McQueen Phantom Avenue.
- Identify the Pink Paws Bank tower — its skin is unmistakable, with pink branding signage on multiple floors.
- Approach the base of the building. There are no public entrances — confirm by walking the perimeter; you will find no doors that lead upward.
- Begin climbing the exterior. Use balconies, ledges, AC condenser units and window frames to gain height. The route is non-linear but the building is mantle-friendly throughout.
- Past the mid-section, you reach an open terrace level. From here, walk up the staircase that leads onto the rooftop helipad.
- The red Torii gate stands on the helipad. Interact with it — a cutscene loads the Anomalous Realm and the encounter begins.
Boss: Nestbound Bird
A spectral bird-shaped boss built around aerial movement and feather-projectile pressure. Phase 1 keeps you grounded with feather volleys and dive attacks. The fight rewards anti-air burst windows and dodging laterally rather than backward.
Feather volley
DodgeTell: The bird hovers above arena centre, wings spread wide. A spray of feather projectiles fans toward the player.
Roll perpendicular to the spread. Standing still lets multiple feathers stack damage on one frame.
Diving slash
ParryTell: Wings fold, the bird tilts downward, then dives at the player along a straight line.
Generous parry window at the end of the dive. Mistime it and you eat full damage plus a knockdown.
Talon grab
Dodge sidewaysTell: The bird lands on the ground, lunges forward with claws extended.
Side-step works — the talon strike is single-target with no lateral spread. A clean side-dodge sets up a punish window.
Aerial scream
Dodge into coverTell: The boss rises to maximum altitude, lets out a visual shock-ring scream.
The shockwave radius expands quickly. Plan your dodge before the scream finishes — chasing it mid-cast is too slow.

The Reward — Tears Beneath the Mask
| Base ATK lv 1 → lv 20 → lv 80 | 33 → 137 → 512 |
| Substat ATK% lv 1 → lv 20 → lv 80 | 11% → 13.8% → 27.5% |
| Passive — Nestbound Bird | Applies Warning Gaze to enemies hit by the wearer's Ultimate. Marked enemies deal 18% reduced damage for 20 s. The Warning Gaze debuff does not stack with itself. |
| Refinement | Refinement scaling for higher levels is not yet fully documented in the community. The base Lv 1 debuff is already strong enough to slot the Arc on supports without urgent need to refine. |
Best User
A-Rank Cosmos sub-DPS whose Ultimate has wide AoE coverage. Tears Beneath the Mask turns her Ultimate into a multi-target damage-reduction debuff — strong in any team where the boss has long uptime on the field.
A utility Arc rather than a damage Arc. The 18% damage reduction is on enemies, not a buff for the wearer — its value lives in survivability for the rest of the team. Best slotted on Skia or any Gas-typed sub-DPS whose Ultimate hits multiple targets.

Pro Tips & Common Pitfalls
- The climb is the longest part of this commission. Bring a character with mobility or a glider — falling off resets you to street level and the bird does not unlock a respawn shortcut.
- The red Torii gate is the only interactable on the helipad. If you don't see it, you're on the wrong rooftop — there are several tall buildings in the area; the Pink Paws Bank's branding confirms the right one.
- Cosmos is the weakness, but the Arc's true beneficiary is Skia. If you don't pull Skia later, the Arc still has utility on any Gas user — don't skip the commission just because she's not in your roster yet.
- Tears Beneath the Mask is a debuff Arc, not a damage Arc. Don't expect it to make your DPS go up — expect it to make incoming damage from the boss go down for the rest of your team.
- The Warning Gaze debuff is applied only when the wearer casts their Ultimate. Plan your Ultimate cadence around the boss's most dangerous attack windows to maximise the 20-second duration.
