AnantaBranding
Sanskrit for 'without end' / 'infinite'. The game's name since the November 29, 2024 rename from Project Mugen.
Project MugenBranding
The game's working title from August 24, 2023 until the November 2024 rename. 'Mugen' uses the Japanese 無限 with the same 'infinity' meaning as Ananta.
Nova CityWorld
The debut city — a Manhattan-scale, Japanese-influenced coastal metropolis.
Nova Inception UrbsWorld
Formal in-fiction name for Nova City.
Residential WestWorld
Western district of Nova City. Lower-rise, community-feel. Contains Paradox Plaza.
Commercial CentralWorld
Central district of Nova City. Densest, most-featured in trailers. Contains Union Square, Glimmergold, Flora Moon Park, City Link.
Financial EastWorld
Eastern district of Nova City. Tallest skyscrapers, corporate headquarters.
A.C.D. (Anti-Chaos Directorate)Factions
The primary peacekeeping organisation the player's task force belongs to. Restructured at the start of the game; the Captain rebuilds it.
N.C.C.A. (Nova City Crime Agency)Factions
Municipal police agency. Richie's original employer; Lykaia is its Director.
Yeet SquadFactions
Delivery-worker collective founded by Taffy and the Captain. Joined the A.C.D. Task Force at restructuring.
Cat ExpressFactions
Underground delivery network in Nova City. Linked to Taffy.

Antagonist street gang surfaced in the September 22, 2025 NetEase TGS gameplay trailer.
ChaosWorld
Supernatural force threatening humanity — anomalies disrupting Nova City.
Maniac ChaosWorld
Local-scale manifestation of Chaos. The label traces to the Project Mugen era rather than NetEase's current copy. Example cited by NetEase: a toilet racing through traffic (December 5, 2024 press release).
EsperLore
Person with Chaos-derived supernatural abilities.
Infinite TriggerLore
Title given to the player-character — the city's top supernatural investigator. Synonym for the highest tier of Esper.
3C SystemGameplay systems
Character, Camera, Control — Naked Rain's name for the traversal/movement framework that targets 'reachable anywhere in sight'.
Day-job progressionGameplay systems
Per-character progression loop. Each playable character levels through a distinct real-world archetype — police duties, deliveries, hacking, live-streaming, fitness training, exploration.

Real-time mid-mission switching between members of the A.C.D. Task Force during boss fights and major missions.

Bunny BikeItems
Common nickname for Taffy's signature weapon — a mallet that transforms into her personal vehicle. NetEase has not published an official name for it.
