Daily Routine & How to Unlock Characters
Every playable character levels through a real-world day-job loop — Ananta's signature progression idea — and the roster opens up entirely through play, with no banners or pulls. Here's the confirmed shape of both.
Day-jobs by character
Four day-job archetypes are confirmed by NetEase; doing the job feeds that character's progression.
- Police officer — Richie
Issue tickets, run field stops, search suspects and make arrests. Patrol work levels her up the same way combat does.
- Delivery worker — Taffy
Complete delivery routes across Nova City, with a parallel social-media chase (a one-million-follower goal that unlocks better perks).
- Hacker / tracker — Seymour
Surveillance, signal-tracking and tech intervention from his RV — selective work on targets he judges worth his time.
- Live-streamer
Chasing fame as a streamer is the fourth headline archetype NetEase named; the specific character isn't confirmed yet.
- The Captain — main-quest nexus
The lead has no single day-job; progression is driven by main-story beats and anchoring the real-time role-switching.
Lifestyle & activities
Nova City is built for downtime: basketball, claw machines, darts, arcades and slap-battle mini-games; beach volleyball, the gym, mahjong and street concerts; plus 'Scope', the in-game social-media app. The publisher's framing is that if you can see it, you should be able to interact with it.
Why the loop matters
Because each character grows through their own job, your 'daily routine' is genuinely per-character — Taffy's deliveries, Richie's patrol and Seymour's surveillance each push that character forward, independent of fighting.

No banners, no pulls
Unlike most anime action-RPGs, Ananta does not sell or roll for characters. Producer Ash Qi has said locking characters behind gacha would clash with the game's high-freedom design, so the roster is something you unlock by playing rather than by spending.
How you'll get characters
- Story progression
Characters join as the A.C.D. Task Force rebuilds — Taffy is the first ally the Captain recruits, followed by Richie and Seymour. Main-story beats are the primary unlock path.
- Open-world encounters
The announced design also unlocks characters through organic encounters out in Nova City, alongside the main quest.
- The Captain (starter)
The player-character is yours from the start — male or female, with a custom name, outfit and vehicle.
What's monetised instead
Outfits, vehicles and home decoration are the monetization backbone. Outfits are gender-shared and auto-adapt across body types — so spending changes how you look, never who you can play.
Per-character unlock conditions ship at launch
The exact requirement for each character — which story chapter, side-quest or encounter unlocks them — fills in here with the launch build.
