Who is Taffy?
Taffy is the first ally the Captain recruits during the main story — a Nova City courier who joins the A.C.D. Task Force. Her signature is a mallet that doubles as a rideable vehicle, the most-featured weapon in the official September 2025 TGS gameplay trailer and the centrepiece of NetEase's pitch that every character has a distinct movement style. Her delivery jobs are one of Ananta's day-job progression layers: each completed run feeds her own levelling, beyond combat. One widely-shown demo mission has her delivering a coffin — with a vampire inside — where driving too recklessly leaves the passenger queasy. Hands-on builds at TGS 2025 and the January 2026 Closed Technical Test consistently showed a mobility-first, close-combat kit paired with an easygoing personality that prioritises low-stress play over min-maxing. Community accounts add a courier collective (the 'Yeet Squad') and the 'Cat Express' network around her, but NetEase hasn't confirmed those affiliations.
Role & affiliation
- Role
- Delivery worker — the first ally the Captain recruits to the Task Force
- Faction
- Anti-Chaos Directorate (A.C.D.) recruit. Community sources also tie her to a courier outfit (the 'Yeet Squad') and the underground 'Cat Express' network — not confirmed by NetEase, and accounts differ on whether she founds or simply belongs to them.
- Esper / status
- Presumably an Esper like the rest of the main cast. Her design leans on a rabbit motif — long white ears, a fluffy tail and long white hair — which reads as styling rather than a confirmed 'species'.
- Release status
- Playable in CBT1 (January 2026)
How they fight
Mobility-first close-combat. She uses Ananta's two-button core (attack + block/counter) with dodge timing that matters as ranged threats appear, and can grab and weaponise objects from the environment before finishing with the mallet. The throughline is constant motion — strike, remount, reposition.
- Signature weapon
- A mallet that transforms into her personal ride (variously a bike, segway or monocycle depending on the angle); widely nicknamed the 'Bunny Bike' — NetEase has not published an official name.
- Signature ability
- Her defining mechanic is the hammer-to-vehicle transformation: dismount to swing the mallet, remount to chase or reposition. No named special ability has been officially published.
Day-job & progression
Delivery work across Nova City — completing routes literally levels her up, the delivery-worker archetype NetEase highlighted in the September 2025 press release. The Tokyo Game Show 2025 demo also showed a parallel social-media chase: an in-character goal of reaching one million followers that unlocks better job perks.
Personality
Laid-back and irreverent — her guiding philosophy is to avoid anything annoying, drink plenty of cola and take lots of breaks; if a chore is unavoidable, get it over with fast. She shows noticeably more personality than the stoic Captain and is happy to be caught quietly slacking mid-'shift'. The TGS 2025 gameplay trailer foregrounds her as the most-featured ally, fitting her role as the first recruit.
