When a "Cuddly Bear" is no longer needed by its owner and is cast aside, it has the potential to transform into the Derivative Anomaly "Saddy Teddy." A Saddy Teddy takes the form of a large, worn—if not damaged—plush bear. Common features include a cape and a weapon. The original discarded doll, the Anomaly "Cuddly Bear," is stuffed into the place its heart would be if the bear was a real creature.
The Saddy Teddy is known to collect other abandoned toys that met a similar fate of abandonment, repeatedly tearing open its own heart to stuff them inside. Children's picture book-like patterns sometimes appear in the area surrounding a Saddy Teddy, and can often serve as an early warning sign of its presence. According to multiple investigations, Saddy Teddies are highly hostile and aggressive towards others.
Some unverified reports claim that Saddy Teddies do not attack children. Although Saddy Teddies are hostile towards people, many eyewitness records show that they are open to cooperation with other Anomalies—to a certain extent.
