Beginner Guide
Closed Beta 2ProgressionXP
How to level up efficiently and not waste time. Core progression mechanics have been stable since Beta 1.
10XP sources
+10%Master Trainer XP
65pts Weather Control
Key takeaways
- Unlock Master Trainer first in the skill tree — +10% XP on all activities.
- Elite Training Quests are the most efficient XP source in the game.
- 10 XP sources available — combine them to progress without wasting resources.
- Don't spend XP Gems before activating Master Trainer: you lose 10%.
Master Trainer — Absolute Priority
In your character's skill tree, level up Master Trainer as a priority. This skill increases the experience gain by 10% or more on nearly everything: Aniimo captures, enemy defeats, XP Gem use, and overall progression.
There are other interesting skills, but if the goal is to optimize your playtime, Master Trainer is non-negotiable. Every XP Gem used without it represents a permanently lost bonus.
Tip — Invest your first points in Master Trainer, then Hoverboard for mobility. The rest can wait until you better understand your playstyle.
XP Sources — From fastest to passive
Elite Training QuestsMost efficient — By far the fastest method. One player went from level 3 to level 31 almost entirely through these quests. Once completed, an instant-claim button unlocks — immediate XP and rewards, with no downtime.
Bloom Branches — Activate them on the map to earn XP and unlock fast-travel points. Upgrade them to fill the Bloom Chart, which unlocks Culture and Prismana Weather Control.
Light Embers (Lumens) — Trackable collectibles scattered across the world. The game notifies your proximity — never ignore them. Each Lumen grants XP.
Capturing Aniimo — Each successful capture grants XP. Effective combo: activate Culture (80% zone required) then throw a Tumble Capsule to capture several Aniimo at once.
Sanctuaries — Puzzle-style mini-dungeons (inspired by Zelda: BotW). Excellent XP reward and sometimes rare materials. Some solo, others duo. Repeatable.
Alpha Bosses — Defeating an Alpha Aniimo grants a significant XP bonus. These are boss versions roaming the open world. Prepare a team suited to their element.
Chests — Chests contain Experience Gems. Explore each zone thoroughly — some are hidden in caves, under cliffs, or behind elemental obstacles.
Holographic Combat Simulator — Survive increasing waves of enemies. Regular rewards in XP and items. Difficult runs give better rewards.
Release Surplus Aniimo — Release Aniimo you no longer need — you receive Experience Gems. Always check stats before releasing to avoid losing a good one.
Farm via Culture — Short on XP Gems: use Culture to summon groups, then earn XP by fighting or capturing them.
Skill Tree — Key Points
Master Trainer — +10% XP on all activities — absolute priority.
Hoverboard + Hustle — Unlock the hoverboard. The Hustle skill (K9/
Scorchhowl family) is the best way to cover long distances.
Active skills — Mega Mallet (weakens an Aniimo to make capture easier), Defense Command, etc.
Useful passives — Increased damage against bosses, Friends Call (nearby wild Aniimo help you in combat).
Weather Control (65 pts) — Manually change a region's weather from the map — useful for Aniimo exclusive to certain conditions.
Conditional evolutions — Some evolutions only unlock by investing specific points in the tree.
Key takeaway
Unlock Master Trainer and Hoverboard first. Weather Control (65 pts) comes later and unlocks Aniimo exclusive to certain weather conditions.Beta note — This information comes from the closed Beta 2 of Aniimo. The basics of progression have been stable since Beta 1. Some mechanics may change before the official launch (2026).
