TL;DR — 5 Steps
- Fast-travel to Torchwood AvenueBridge Crossings district. Walk along Torchwood Avenue until you find the NEW WAY storefront — it doubles as the Novus Vehicle Dealership and is hard to miss.
- Climb to the rooftopTake the accessible exterior staircase or fire escape up to the NEW WAY rooftop. The Tidal Ascension entities spawn the moment you step onto the roof.
- Bring a 3-Esper-Type teamIf you plan to immediately equip A Time Will Come on the wearer, run a team with 3 different Esper Types so the +ATK/DEF/HP triple buff activates during the same clear.
- Defeat the Tidal Ascension entitiesStandard Lv II mob-tier HP pool. AoE-friendly DPS clears them in well under 30 seconds. No element gate, no parry-only mechanic.
- Interact with the rainbow scaleAfter the kill, a rainbow-coloured scale appears in the centre of the rooftop. Tap it to contain the anomaly and complete the commission — skipping this step means losing a beat of post-clear loot.
Reaching the NEW WAY Rooftop
- Open the world map and fast-travel to a phone booth near Torchwood Avenue in Bridge Crossings.
- Walk along Torchwood Avenue scanning the storefronts. NEW WAY (the Novus Vehicle Dealership) is a clear two-storey building with prominent signage.
- Take the exterior staircase up the side of the building, or use the fire escape on the rear face.
- Step onto the rooftop. Tidal Ascension entities spawn immediately — the commission timer begins at zero, but the engagement is essentially on contact.
- Defeat all Tidal Ascension entities. There are no waves — once the spawned group is down, the encounter is over.
- A rainbow-coloured scale materialises near the centre of the rooftop after the kill. This is the contain interactive.
- Walk up to the scale and interact with it to seal the anomaly and trigger the A Time Will Come Arc drop.
Enemies: Tidal Ascension
Tidal Ascension is the anomaly entity tied to Dragon Gate Substitute — a small group of phenomenon-type mobs that spawn together on the NEW WAY rooftop. No boss-tier HP pool, no parry-required tells, no enrage. The point of the commission is the free A-Rank Synthesis Arc at the end — the combat is balanced for a Lv II clear and exists mainly as a gate.
Tidal sweep
DodgeTell: A wide arc of pale water builds in front of the entity before sweeping forward.
Easy lateral dodge. Dragon Gate Substitute's entire fight is basically a tutorial on how to read a single-target tell — the encounter does not pressure you beyond the sweep.
Cluster spawn pressure
RepositionTell: Tidal Ascension entities frequently path toward the same edge of the rooftop.
The roof has edges close enough to matter. If the entities bunch on one side, kite back toward the opposite edge and re-engage on your terms — corner-locked AoE is the only realistic failure mode here.

The Reward — A Time Will Come
| Base ATK lv 1 → lv 80 | 30 → 475 |
| Substat CRIT Rate lv 1 → lv 80 | 8% → 20% |
| Passive — Tidal Ascension | When the team contains 3 or more different Esper Types, the wearer gains +10% (R1) → +12% (R2) → +14% (R3) → +16% (R4) → +18% (R5) to ATK, DEF, and HP simultaneously. The condition is checked every frame — drop below 3 Esper Types and the buff disappears until you re-trigger it. |
| Refinement | 5 refinement levels. Each refinement adds +2 percentage points to all three buffs (ATK, DEF, HP) — at R5, +54 percentage points of total stat budget if you read the three numbers together. The Esper Type condition is generous on diverse teams but a hard wall on mono-element compositions. |
| Best users | Baicang (S-Rank — Incantation Sub-DPS who slots into mixed-element burst comps), Fadia (S-Rank — Psyche debuffer who already runs in 3-Esper teams), Adler (A-Rank — Support whose +HP scaling directly buffs her shield kit). Skip on mono-Esper teams where the +30% buff never activates. |
The diverse-team specialist Arc. CRIT Rate substat instead of the usual ATK% makes it a flat damage upgrade on Baicang and Fadia versus generic A-Rank options. Two commissions sharing the drop (this one + Heaven's Forsaken) means R5 is fast.

Pro Tips & Common Pitfalls
- Don't leave the rooftop before interacting with the rainbow scale. The commission completes on the scale tap, not on the kill — skipping it means losing the post-clear loot beat.
- Bring a 3-Esper-Type team on your first clear so you can benchmark A Time Will Come's effect immediately. If the buff doesn't activate, you'll know your roster is missing the diversity gate.
- This is the Lv II source of A Time Will Come. Heaven's Forsaken in New Herland is the Lv III alt source — clear both per cycle to double your refinement progress.
- Tidal Ascension entities don't have an element weakness, so any DPS works. Pick the one your team is already built around rather than swapping in a specialised element comp.
- Refinement plan: this commission + Heaven's Forsaken = 2 A Time Will Come shards per weekly cycle. R1 → R5 in roughly 5 weeks without spending duplicates.
- Fadia is the dark horse user of this Arc. Her Psyche debuffs already work best in mixed-element teams, and the CRIT Rate substat directly boosts her debuff-trigger crit ratio.
