Verdict

Bonnie is the launch SR Wind Supporter and the easiest entry into a mono-Wind composition. Her kit rotates between three instruments: Tuba (Special — moving Wind DMG + Resonance), Trumpet (Basic Attack) and French Horn (Tag-out — Wind Affliction). Switching instruments powers her Fantasia passive — every change gives her a Crit Rate window and Musical Score generation on crits. Her Ultimate Finale stays on the field as a long ensemble that keeps spitting Wind Affliction and gathering more Musical Scores while another DPS holds the lead.

Her real reason for slotting in is C2 (Encore!). When Bonnie plays French Horn during her Tag-out, her teammates' Crit DMG increases by 40% of her Crit Rate for the duration — pure team-wide damage multiplier scaling off her own substats. That single Canto turns her from a decent F2P support into a real Wind enabler. C1 (Cue the Overture!) is the on-field upgrade (rhythm-tap Basic Attacks for +5% DMG + 5 Musical Scores per beat), and C6 (Listen! My Fantasia!) caps her ceiling with 4 Harmony stacks on instrument changes.

Pull-priority-wise there is nothing to debate: she is free. Every player gets her at launch, which means every Wind team built around Esther, Sangun or Jiwon already has its support slot covered. Spend resources on her over Jiwon if you do not own the SSR Wind Supporter, or invest in her alongside Jiwon for a deeper Wind crit comp.

  • Story / AdventureBResonance + Tuba clears trash quickly, but her real value is team buffing — wasted on solo content where the buff has no DPS to amplify.
  • Conquest / BossesAEncore (C2) turns her into the best free Wind crit support. Drop her behind Esther for the team Crit DMG window.
  • Stagger / BurstBWind Affliction on Tag-out + Ultimate. Affliction stacking helps the Destroyer staggers but she is not a stagger main.
  • Endgame / RiftsAFree Wind support that scales with her own Crit Rate — Crit Rate substats benefit Bonnie + her whole team simultaneously.
  • F2P-friendlySFree at launch + signature SR artifact craftable. Devourer Stance SR set craftable. Zero gacha pressure on her.

Strengths

  • Free at launch — every player gets her without pulling, which means the support slot for any Wind team is already solved.
  • Signature SR artifact (Military Band's Offbeat Marcher) is craftable and gives the entire team +1.5% Wind DMG per Musical Scale stack (max 7 = +10.5% team Wind DMG).
  • Encore (C2) scales the team's Crit DMG off her Crit Rate substats — the only support in the SR pool with team-wide Crit DMG scaling.
  • Three-instrument rotation (Tuba/Trumpet/French Horn) reads as gimmicky but each switch grants Crit Rate via Fantasia passive — combo is forgiving once you learn the loop.
  • Tag-out → French Horn applies Wind Affliction — sustains Affliction uptime for Esther's Abyss 4pc + the Wind Brawler payoffs without needing on-field time.
  • Ultimate Finale stays on the field. While she is tagged out, the ensemble keeps generating Wind Affliction + Musical Scores in the background.

Weaknesses

  • C0 is functional but flat — her real curve starts at C1 (rhythm Basic Attacks). Most of her launch reviews undershoot her because they did not own C2 yet.
  • Crit Rate dependent — if you slot her on a no-crit team or stack only ATK substats, Encore goes to waste.
  • Three-instrument micro-management is more demanding than other SR supporters. Players who facetank the rotation lose Fantasia uptime.
  • Ranged but soft — her HP/DEF curve is lower than Daisy's, and she lacks an evasion gimmick. Pair her with Francis if you take heavy boss damage.
  • Outshone by Jiwon in pure-Wind comps once Jiwon hits C2-C3. Bonnie is the universal Wind support, not the ceiling one.
  • Locked to Wind teams for max value — her signature artifact and Devourer Stance set both gate on Wind DMG / Wind Affliction.

Best gear

Bonnie's recommended artifact + equipment set, with farmable alternates for F2P.

Signature artifactBISMilitary Band's Offbeat MarcherSR Supporter signature. Landing a Tag-out Skill grants Musical Scale to every teammate: +1.5% Wind DMG per stack, max 7 stacks (= +10.5% team Wind DMG for 2s, refreshed every Tag-out). Themed exactly to Bonnie's French Horn Tag-out loop and built around her support identity. Craftable — no banner gate.
Equipment setBISDevourer Stance (4-piece)SR Wind set. 2pc grants +5% Wind DMG vs Wind-Afflicted enemies — Bonnie's own French Horn + Finale apply Wind Affliction, so the bonus is always live. 4pc grants teammates +3% Crit Rate for 5s on Support Skill AND +10% Crit DMG for 5s on Tag-out Skill — both branches stack directly with Encore Canto (C2). The single best support set she can wear F2P.

Alternates

  • Abyss (4-piece) — SSR Wind set. 2pc +10% Wind DMG on Special (Tuba), 4pc +10% Wind DMG on critical hit. Pure DMG ceiling option once you own SSR shards — but Devourer's team Crit Rate buff is usually worth more than the personal Wind DMG.
  • Celestial Halo of Wisdom — SR Supporter alternate artifact — +2% Ultimate gauge per crit / Special / Switch. Generic ultimate-cycle support — pick if you want faster Finale rotations rather than team Wind DMG.
  • Celestial Halo of Protection — SR Supporter alternate artifact — +11% Shield base HP + 15% team heal on Shield. Niche pick for survival comps; Bonnie has no shield, so the heal-on-shield branch is dead.
How the kit works

Kit overview

Five abilities, three instruments. Switching instruments fuels Fantasia; Fantasia fuels Musical Scores; Scores fuel French Horn.

  1. SpecialTuba Part13.6s CD · Gauge 1160

Bonnie walks forward playing the Tuba — sustained Wind DMG ticks. Closing performance hits in place and inflicts Resonance: enemies explode after a delay, faster if clustered. Use it on grouped trash; on bosses it is a Wind ticker between Tag-outs.

  2. Basic AttackTrumpet PartGauge 180

Single-target Trumpet shots. On its own it is unimpressive, but with C1 (Cue the Overture!) it gains a rhythm bonus — tapping in beat with her podium melody grants +5% DMG and 5 Musical Scores per hit. Pre-C1 it is just a gauge filler.

  3. PassiveFantasia

Switching instruments increases Crit Rate. Landing a critical hit while the window is open grants a Musical Score. Build her Crit Rate hard — every substat point doubles as a personal damage line AND fuels Encore's team Crit DMG buff (C2).

  4. Tag-InIntro / French HornGauge 800

Tag-in: Trumpet blast for Wind DMG. The real payload is the Tag-out → French Horn: applies Wind Affliction, and if she has enough Musical Scores, the French Horn replays automatically. This is the trigger for both Military Band's Marcher (team Wind DMG) and Encore (team Crit DMG).

  5. UltimateFinale3 charges

Sets up the ensemble: Wind sound waves + Wind Affliction. The ensemble persists on the field and keeps gathering Musical Scores at set intervals, even while Bonnie is tagged out. Reusing the Ultimate ends the ensemble for a final Wind detonation + another Score. Open every burst window with Finale, then swap to your main DPS.

Dupes / Canto

Canto priority

C2 (Encore!) is the support unlock — the rest is comfort.

Canto value (in order)

  • C2 — Encore!Teammates gain Crit DMG equal to 40% of Bonnie's Crit Rate when she plays French Horn (Tag-out). THE Canto. Turns her from a flat support into a team-wide damage multiplier. Stop here if you are F2P.
  • C1 — Cue the Overture!Podium melody on Switch Skill — rhythm-tap Basic Attacks for +5% DMG and 5 Musical Scores per beat. Major QoL — Musical Score generation becomes consistent instead of crit-gated. Worth pulling for if you main her.
  • C6 — Listen! My Fantasia!4 stacks of Harmony on instrument change (consumed on switch back to her). End-of-curve ceiling unlock; pure DPS scaling on her personal damage line. Skip unless you have a guaranteed dupe path.
  • C4 — Pick Up the Tempo!Max Musical Scores raised to 25 + extra Score on critical Tag-out. Marginal — most players never cap Scores in normal play.
  • C3 / C5 — flat statsticks+2 skill levels each + minor Ultimate / Tag-out DMG bumps. Pickup between meaningful jumps.
On-field play

How to play her — support rotation

Bonnie does her best work in 4-5 seconds, then leaves. Master the swap window.

  • 1. Tag-In (Intro Trumpet) to enter combatDrops you onto the boss with a small Wind hit. Use it to reposition between the main carry's burst windows.
  • 2. Special (Tuba Part) for Resonance + Wind ticksWalk it through the boss / cluster. The Resonance debuff explodes after a delay — keep enemies grouped so they pop together. Builds Musical Scores while moving.
  • 3. Basic Attack rhythm taps (with C1)Once the podium is on the field, tap BA on the beat for +5% DMG and Musical Scores. Without C1, just hold BA to fill the Ultimate gauge.
  • 4. Tag-out (French Horn) → applies Wind Affliction + buffsTHE support window. This single Tag-out triggers Military Band's Marcher (team Wind DMG stack) AND Encore at C2 (team Crit DMG = 40% of her Crit Rate). Always end Bonnie's turn with this.
  • 5. Ultimate (Finale) for the long ensembleDrop the ensemble before swapping out — it persists in the background, generating Wind Affliction + Musical Scores while your DPS goes ham. Re-trigger the Ultimate later for the final Wind detonation.
Investment by profile

Should you invest in her?

She is free — the real question is how much gold and gear to spend.

Beginner / new player

Use her. She is your launch Wind support — Esther teams just plug her in. Take the Military Band's Marcher artifact from the craft path first, then build out Devourer Stance 4pc. Three-instrument rotation looks scary but you only need to remember the Tuba → BA → French Horn loop for support; the Ultimate is fire-and-forget.

F2P / low spend

Top priority on Wind-team gear. She gets a craftable signature artifact AND a craftable SR set — no gacha pressure at all. Prioritise Crit Rate substats; she scales her team's Crit DMG off her own Crit Rate via Encore. Do not invest in Jiwon if you do not own her; Bonnie covers the Wind support slot at ~85% efficiency.

Invested / dolphin

Push to C2 first for Encore. After that, comfort copies (C1 for podium consistency) and skip C3-C5. C6 is end-of-curve — only chase if you already own Jiwon and want a deeper Wind crit team. With C2 + Crit Rate substats + Devourer Stance 4pc, she rivals SSR supporters for any Wind composition.

Endgame / theory-crafter

Run Esther + Sangun + Bonnie for a triple-Wind crit core: Bonnie applies Wind Affliction via Tag-out + Finale, triggers Encore for +Crit DMG team-wide, Esther converts the Crit DMG into Dust Cloud burst, Sangun cleans up with counter Wild Fervor. Replace Bonnie with Jiwon for the higher ATK ceiling, but Bonnie's Crit DMG scaling is more consistent on real boss fights with high RES.

Quick answers

FAQ

Is Bonnie worth investing in if she is free?
Yes. She is the launch SR Wind Supporter, gifted to every player, with a signature SR artifact (Military Band's Offbeat Marcher) and a craftable SR set (Devourer Stance). Every Wind team uses her until you pull Jiwon — and even then she remains a strong second support slot at C2 for the team Crit DMG buff.
What is Bonnie's best artifact?
Military Band's Offbeat Marcher (SR, signature). Landing a Tag-out grants every teammate Musical Scale (+1.5% Wind DMG per stack, max 7 = +10.5% team Wind DMG). Themed to her French Horn Tag-out loop.
What is Bonnie's best equipment set?
Devourer Stance 4-piece (SR Wind). 2pc gives +5% Wind DMG vs Wind-Afflicted, 4pc grants teammates +3% Crit Rate on Support Skill and +10% Crit DMG on Tag-out. Stacks directly with Encore Canto.
Which Canto should I prioritise for Bonnie?
C2 (Encore!) first — teammates gain Crit DMG equal to 40% of her Crit Rate when she plays French Horn. This is the Canto that turns her into a real Wind support. C1 (Cue the Overture!) second for rhythm-tap Basic Attacks. Skip C3-C5 unless you have free dupes.
How do I play Bonnie in a boss fight?
Tag-in for entry. Special (Tuba Part) for Resonance + Wind ticks. Basic Attack rhythm taps (with C1) to build Musical Scores. Tag-out (French Horn) — applies Wind Affliction + triggers Military Band's Marcher + Encore. Drop Ultimate (Finale) before swapping out for the long ensemble. Then let your DPS finish the burst window.
Bonnie vs. Jiwon for Wind support?
Jiwon is the SSR ceiling — better ATK buffs, cluster pull, higher personal damage. Bonnie is the universal free pick — works in every Wind team, scales her team's Crit DMG via Encore, costs nothing to pull. Pair both for the deepest Wind comps; pick Bonnie alone if you do not own Jiwon.
Should I stack ATK or Crit Rate on Bonnie?
Crit Rate. Encore (C2) reads her Crit Rate and hands 40% of it to her team as Crit DMG on every French Horn Tag-out. ATK only buffs her (modest) personal damage; Crit Rate buffs her AND every other carry on the team.
What is Musical Score and how does it work?
A stack resource generated when Bonnie lands critical hits or beats the rhythm with C1's podium. Musical Scores are consumed by her French Horn Tag-out to replay the French Horn — extra Wind Affliction + extra Tag-out buff procs. The Finale ensemble passively gathers Scores every set interval while she is off-field.
Can I play Bonnie F2P?
She is F2P by definition — every player receives her at launch. Her signature artifact is craftable, her best set (Devourer Stance) is craftable, and her core Canto (C2) requires duplicate copies that come from limited-time events and the standard pool. No banner pressure.
Why does Bonnie keep switching instruments?
Her Fantasia passive grants Crit Rate every time she changes instrument, and crits generate Musical Scores. Tuba (Special), Trumpet (BA), French Horn (Tag-out) — cycle through all three at least once per rotation to keep Fantasia active. Sitting on one instrument throws away her core damage gain.
Does Bonnie work outside Wind teams?
She technically works as a generic buff support, but her signature artifact (Military Band's Marcher = team Wind DMG) and her best set (Devourer Stance = +Wind DMG vs Wind Afflicted) both gate on Wind. Outside a Wind team you lose ~25-35% of her support value. Slot her into Wind teams.
