Meliodas SSR
The actually-played support shell around Meliodas One-Handed Sword — read from live community teams.
Meliodas on the One-Handed Sword is a Darkness-Burst hyper-carry: Haste fuels his Speed Master passive, Blazing Cross deals 449% with +100% versus Darkness-Burst targets, and his Chain Attack snowballs as long as the Burst stays up. He is the damage — the team's job is to keep his crit, his cooldowns and his Burst window fed. This guide takes the comp straight from what the community actually runs with him (the 30 most-popular live Meliodas teams), then explains every pick with the heroes' own kit data.

The team people actually run — and why it works
Reality first: across the 30 most-popular community Meliodas teams, 26 run him on the One-Handed Sword, and the support shell is overwhelmingly Daisy (25/30), Mannie (22/30) and Guila (10/30). This is the exact reciprocal of the Daisy team guide — the playerbase pairs the Meliodas carry with the Daisy crit-support and the Mannie battery, from both directions. It is not a coincidence; it is the kit.
Meliodas Sword1h is gated by three things: he needs Darkness Burst on the target for Blazing Cross's +100% and Speed Master's +200%, his Chain Attack has a long 27-second cooldown, and his payload is a small number of huge crit hits. Daisy fixes the crit (+15% team Crit Damage, −50% enemy Crit Defense, −Crit Resistance); Mannie fixes the cooldowns (Flash Explosion resets every Normal Skill) and the Magic; Guila is the durable Taunt/barrier body that buys him the time to set up. Each member removes one of his constraints.
So the flagship is Meliodas (Sword1h) + Daisy (Book) + Mannie (Staff) + Guila (Shield). Run it if you own Meliodas on the One-Handed Sword — it is the real, most-played configuration. His Combined-Attack table is covered honestly lower down, but the team above is the one that is actually fielded.
Strengths
- Built from real usage: the 30 most-popular live community Meliodas teams, not a tier-list opinion.
- Every pick is justified by the partner's own kit data, not vibes.
- Daisy (25/30) triple-amplifies his crit: +15% team Crit Damage, −50% enemy Crit Defense, −Crit Resistance — exactly what a 449% +100% Blazing Cross wants.
- Mannie (22/30) resets his long 27-sec Chain Attack via Flash Explosion and refills Magic — the biggest single uptime gain for his kit.
- Self-sufficient carry core: Abyssal Dash resets its own cooldown on a Darkness-Burst target, so his rotation snowballs once Burst is up.
- The Daisy + Mannie core is the most-tested support pair on the site — it anchors both the Meliodas and Daisy popular teams.
Weaknesses
- Meliodas-Sword1h-only — his Axe and Dual Swords paths are different kits with different rotations.
- Three SSRs in the core (Meliodas, Daisy, Mannie) — an invested-account team.
- Hard-gated by Darkness Burst: no Burst on the target means no +100% Blazing Cross and no +200% Speed Master.
- Guila's +30% Fire passive does NOT buff Darkness Meliodas — she is here purely as the Shield Taunt/barrier body, not a damage buff. Do not expect a Fire synergy.
- His Combined-Attack table exists but is not how he is played — do not build the team around a combo number.
What people actually run with Meliodas
Not a tier-list guess — the partner distribution across the 30 most-popular live Meliodas teams.
Pulled from the live community team feed: 26 of the 30 most-popular Meliodas teams run him on the One-Handed Sword. The support usage is unambiguous — Daisy 25 (almost all Book, 24), Mannie 22, Guila 10 (Shield 5 / Rapier 4), then Diane 6, Howzer 5, Jericho 5. Meliodas is the carry; the other three slots are the support shell that lets his Darkness-Burst loop fire.
This is the mirror image of the Daisy team guide, which showed Meliodas as the carry Daisy is built to amplify. Seen from either hero the playerbase converges on the same core — that is the strongest possible signal that this is the real meta, not a guess.
Meliodas partner usage (live popular teams, this is the meta)
- Daisy — 25 / 30 — Book crit-support: +15% team Crit Damage, −50% enemy Crit Defense, −Crit Resistance. The #1 pairing.
- Mannie — 22 / 30 — The universal battery: resets all Normal Skill cooldowns (his 27-sec Chain Attack) + Magic + +30% Ult damage.
- Guila — 10 / 30 — Shield Taunt/barrier body (5 Shield / 4 Rapier). Defensive utility — NOT a Fire damage buff for Dark Meliodas.
- Diane / Howzer / Jericho — 6 / 5 / 5 — The real flex 4th the community actually rotates in.
Meliodas — the Darkness-Burst hyper-carry
Three bottlenecks the support shell exists to remove.
Meliodas on the One-Handed Sword is a Dark Attacker built on Haste and Darkness Burst. Abyssal Dash grants Haste for 7 sec (Haste = +25% Speed Master damage and +15% Darkness Attack, max 2) and resets its own cooldown when it hits a Darkness-Burst enemy. Chain Attack deals 286% and, on a Darkness-Burst target, cuts its own cooldown by 2 sec per Haste stack per hit — but its base cooldown is a long 27 sec. His passive Speed Master adds +200% Attack damage when the Normal Skill lands on a Darkness-Burst enemy. Blazing Cross, his Ultimate, deals 449% with +100% versus Darkness-Burst targets, and as a Combined-Attack base inflicts Opening for 20 sec.
Read that as three needs: (1) Darkness Burst must stay on the target or his two biggest multipliers go dead; (2) his Chain Attack cooldown is long without help; (3) his payload is a few enormous crit hits, so crit amplification is worth more to him than flat support. The played meta — Daisy, Mannie, Guila — solves exactly these, which is why the community converged on it rather than on his Combined-Attack numbers.
Meliodas Sword1h — the carry kit (in-game data)
- FirstAbyssal Dash
Haste 7 sec (+25% Speed Master dmg, +15% Darkness Atk, max 2); resets its cooldown vs a Darkness-Burst enemy.
- SecondChain Attack
286%; vs Darkness-Burst, −2 sec cooldown per Haste stack per hit. The long cooldown Mannie's reset fixes.
- UltimateBlazing Cross
449%, +100% vs Darkness-Burst; final strike removes Burst; as Combined-Attack base inflicts Opening 20 sec.
- PassiveSpeed Master
−2 sec Darkness Burst duration; +200% Attack extra damage when the Normal Skill lands on a Darkness-Burst enemy.
Daisy — the crit amplifier he is built around
The most-used Meliodas partner; the reciprocal of the Daisy team guide.
Daisy on the Book is in 25 of 30 popular Meliodas teams. Her whole kit is crit amplification, and Meliodas' payload — a 449% Blazing Cross doubled on Darkness-Burst targets — is exactly the kind of single huge crit hit that benefits most. Shocking Awakening grants the team +15% Crit Damage for 40 sec, Fruit Barrage strips 50% of the enemy's Crit Defense for 10 sec, and her passive Static Charge applies Electromagnet (lowered enemy Crit Resistance). Three crit levers, all pointed at his Ultimate.
This pairing showing up from both heroes' most-popular teams is the strongest signal in the data that Meliodas + Daisy is the real core, not a theorycraft.
Daisy Book — the crit shell (in-game data)
- FirstShocking Awakening!
+15% allies' Crit Damage for 40 sec — short cooldown, near-permanent uptime with Mannie.
- UltimateFruit Barrage!
−50% enemy Crit Defense for 10 sec — drop it right before Blazing Cross.
- PassiveStatic Charge
Normal Attacks apply Electromagnet: lowered enemy Crit Resistance for 40 sec.
Mannie — the cooldown & Magic battery
The same universal enabler that anchors the Escanor and Daisy metas.
Mannie on the Staff is in 22 of 30 popular Meliodas teams. Her single biggest contribution to him is Flash Explosion: it resets the Normal Skill cooldown of all allied heroes — and Meliodas' Chain Attack sits on a long 27-second cooldown, so an instant reset is a massive damage uptime gain. Her passive Dragon Priestess restores 15 Magic Gauge on Normal Attacks and adds +30% Ultimate Move damage versus a Punishment-affected enemy (directly buffing Blazing Cross), and Priestess's Blessing grants allies +30% Crit Damage and +25% Magic Charging Efficiency — stacking on top of Daisy's crit.
Daisy + Mannie together is the support backbone: Daisy supplies the crit multipliers, Mannie keeps them — and Meliodas' long cooldowns — permanently refreshed.
Mannie Staff — why she is core (in-game data)
- FirstPriestess's Blessing
Allies gain +30% Crit Damage and +25% Magic Charging Efficiency for 15 sec.
- UltimateFlash Explosion
Resets the Normal Skill cooldowns of all allies — Meliodas' 27-sec Chain Attack back instantly.
- PassiveDragon Priestess
Normal Attack restores 15 Magic Gauge; +30% Ultimate Move damage vs a Punishment-affected enemy.
Guila — the Taunt/barrier body (honest note) and the flex
Why she is here for survivability, not a Fire buff — and the real alternatives.
Guila is in 10 of 30 popular Meliodas teams (Shield 5, Rapier 4). Be honest about the why: Meliodas is Darkness, so Guila's Shield passive Burning Protection (+30% team Fire damage) does NOT buff him — that synergy is real for Escanor, not here. Her value in a Meliodas team is the Shield body itself: Flame Rampart is a Taunt stance that is Reaction-immune and cuts her damage taken by 65%, and Ground Ignition grants all allied heroes a Barrier worth 20% of Max HP for 20 sec. She buys Meliodas the safety and time to build Haste and land his setup.
If you do not run Guila, the live data shows the real flex is Diane (6), Howzer (5) or Jericho (5) — pick by what you own and what utility you need. This slot is the editorial part; the Meliodas + Daisy + Mannie core is what the usage data dictates.
Slot 4 — the real options (live usage order)
- Guila (Shield) — 10/30 — Taunt + Reaction-immune −65% damage taken stance; team Barrier 20% Max HP. Defensive utility, not a damage buff.
- Diane / Howzer / Jericho — 6 / 5 / 5 — The actual flex the community rotates in; choose by roster and needed utility.
- Not a Fire-synergy pick — Meliodas is Darkness — do not slot Guila expecting her +30% Fire to help him; it does not.
Team rotation
Every step uses only mechanics written in the heroes' in-game data.
The sequence keeps Darkness Burst up, pins the crit stack, and resets his long cooldown into the burst. Nothing here is a fabricated number — each effect is the one listed on the skill.
Opening → burst
- 1 · Set Darkness Burst — Get a Darkness Burst onto the boss so Blazing Cross's +100% and Speed Master's +200% are live (Meliodas' own kit pressures it; keep it refreshed).
- 2 · Daisy + Mannie pre-buff — Daisy: Shocking Awakening (+15% team Crit Damage) and auto-attack for Electromagnet. Mannie: Priestess's Blessing (+30% Crit Damage, +25% Magic) and apply Punishment.
- 3 · Meliodas builds Haste — Abyssal Dash for Haste (+25% Speed Master dmg, +15% Darkness Atk); on a Darkness-Burst target it resets, so chain it. Speed Master adds +200% on Normal Skill hits.
- 4 · Daisy opens the window — Fruit Barrage strips 50% enemy Crit Defense for 10 sec — the deepest crit window.
- 5 · Mannie resets — Flash Explosion resets Chain Attack's 27-sec cooldown — re-cast it immediately for a second big hit inside the window.
- 6 · Dump Blazing Cross — Inside the −50% Crit Defense / −Crit Resistance / +45% Crit Damage stack, on the Darkness-Burst target: Blazing Cross 449% +100%, with Speed Master and the Chain Attack reset stacked.
What Meliodas' Combined-Attack table says — and why the meta differs
Reconciling the raw data numbers with what is actually played.
For completeness: Meliodas has a Combined-Attack table (13 pairwise entries, no fixed 3-hero combos), and his combo bonus is real — using a Combined Attack with Blazing Cross as the base inflicts Opening on the enemy for 20 sec. By raw payload that table would point at the biggest-number partners, the same way Escanor's pointed at Drake/Howzer.
The live usage is the correction, consistent with the Escanor and Daisy guides: Meliodas is played as a self-sufficient Darkness-Burst carry wrapped in a crit-and-uptime support shell (Daisy + Mannie), not as a combo-payload pairing. The community builds the team that maximises his Blazing Cross loop, not the biggest combo digit. Treat the Combined-Attack table as trivia; the team above is what is actually run.
Gearing Meliodas for this team
A crit Darkness carry — gear follows the Burst loop.
Meliodas' damage is a small number of huge crit hits gated by Darkness Burst, so Crit (Chance/Damage), Darkness damage and Attack are his stat-stick — the Daisy/Mannie shell already supplies the crit multipliers, so he wants the raw stats to convert them. Use the community build tool below to copy a full Meliodas Sword1h loadout, and the team builder to lock the Meliodas + Daisy + Mannie core plus your flex against your own roster.

FAQ
- Why Daisy as the number-one partner?
- Because the live data pairs them from both sides — Daisy is in 25 of 30 popular Meliodas teams, and Meliodas is in 21 of 30 popular Daisy teams. Her Book kit is triple crit amplification (+15% team Crit Damage, −50% enemy Crit Defense, −Crit Resistance), and Meliodas' payload is a 449% Blazing Cross doubled on Darkness-Burst targets — exactly the single huge crit hit her kit multiplies most.
- Why is Mannie in almost every Meliodas team?
- His Chain Attack has a long 27-second cooldown and his Ultimate is Magic-gated. Mannie's Flash Explosion resets all allies' Normal Skill cooldowns (instant Chain Attack again), her passive refills Magic and adds +30% Ultimate damage, and Priestess's Blessing stacks another +30% Crit Damage on top of Daisy's. She is the universal battery — 22 of 30.
- Does Guila buff Meliodas' damage?
- No — and this guide is explicit about it. Meliodas is Darkness; Guila's +30% team Fire passive is off-element and does nothing for him. She is in Meliodas teams as the Shield Taunt/barrier body (Reaction-immune −65% damage-taken Taunt stance, team Barrier worth 20% Max HP) — pure survivability/utility, not a damage buff.
- What's the 4th slot?
- Guila (10/30) for the defensive Shield body, or the live flex alternatives Diane (6), Howzer (5) or Jericho (5). Pick by roster and the utility you need; the Meliodas + Daisy + Mannie core stays fixed. Test the slot in the team builder.
- Is any of this invented?
- No. The team comes from live community usage (the 30 most-popular published Meliodas teams) and every 'why' is read from the heroes' own in-game skill data — including the honest note that Guila's Fire buff does not help a Darkness carry. His Combined-Attack table is reported separately, with an explanation of why the meta does not follow it.
