Roster Reference

Every released hero, every weapon path, every element — searchable by role.

The damage formula made concrete with characters — which hero covers which element × role pairing for mono-element teams, plus the kit-level specialists who strip Shatter Resistance or scale off each elemental Burst state.

What this guide is

This page is the companion to the Damage Formula (PvE) guide — the same stats and mechanics, mapped onto the actual cast of 21 released heroes. Use it when you've understood what a stat does and now want to know who plays into it.

  • Element × Role grid — building a mono-element team? Find every released hero that can cover a given element and role pairing.
  • Mechanic specialists — which heroes' kits explicitly interact with Shatter Resistance or with each elemental Burst state, derived from the in-game skill descriptions.
  • Timespace Junction — the 4 challenge sectors mapped to recommended hero picks, with element pairs, BP targets and time thresholds pulled live from the dungeon-crack data.

Heroes appear in multiple cells whenever they have multiple weapons covering different element / role combinations (a single hero can be Attacker on one weapon and Warden on another). Unreleased or placeholder heroes are excluded.

Element × Role grid — who can cover what

Columns are the six elemental Burst pipelines. Rows are the four kit roles the game ships (Attacker, Buster, Warden, Supporter). Each cell lists every released hero with at least one weapon matching that element × role pairing.

WardenDredrin, Elaine, TiorehClotho

Why this matters: the damage formula guide explains why mono-element teams snowball harder — activating any Burst resets every other element's gauge, so a team that all share one element keeps stacking the same gauge instead of cancelling each other.

Mechanic specialists — kits that interact with the formula

Pulled by scanning every released hero's skill descriptions for explicit interactions with the relevant mechanic — so the lists below auto-update whenever the developers ship a new hero or rework an existing kit.

DEFENSE SHATTER — STRIP & SELF-BUFF
InteractionHeroes
Strips enemy Shatter Resistance (offensive support)Daisy, Griamore
Self-buffs own Shatter Resistance (tank-style)Diane

Shatter strippers are the strongest offensive supports because Defense Shatter caps at 90% summed across the team (see the Defense Shatter section for the full mechanic).

BURST STATE — KIT-LEVEL PAYOFF PER ELEMENT

Heroes whose kits explicitly mention a given Element Burst — meaning they either trigger that Burst, scale off attacking enemies in that Burst, or feed that gauge faster. Listed in alphabetical order; a hero appears under every element they specialise in.

ElementBurst specialistsWhat the Burst does
FireEscanor, Guila, Slater, TristanAttacks deal additional damage
WindClotho, Elaine, Howzer, TristanGenerates a current that damages and lifts enemies
LightningDrake, GilthunderDamage spreads to nearby enemies
EarthDaisy, Diane, Dreyfus, Elaine, TiorehBarrier + stacking damage-up buff (max 5×)
ColdJericho, MannieChill debuff → Freeze at 10 stacks
DarknessBug, Hendrickson, MeliodasReduces target's Darkness Defense (only after another Burst)

The exact "additional damage" multiplier each Burst grants is computed inside the compiled engine and isn't shipped as a numeric constant. What ships in the data is the per-element behaviour shown in the right column — see the Burst Gauge section of the damage formula guide for the full tutorial-log quotes.

Timespace Junction — Hero picks per sector

The 4 main Timespace Junction sectors (Season 1) each have a distinct boss with two element weaknesses — bringing heroes whose weapons match those elements is the single biggest lever on clear time. Below: every released hero whose element pool aligns with each sector, split by damage role (Attacker / Buster) and support role (Supporter / Warden), with Burst payoff specialists called out separately.

Element pairs, recommended BP and time thresholds come from dungeon-crack.json — they auto-update with every patch. Boss identity and links to dedicated boss guides are cross-referenced from the End-Game guide's canonical sector table.

"Burst payoff specialists" are heroes whose kits explicitly scale off, trigger, or extend one of the sector's matching element Bursts (extracted from skill descriptions). For sectors where the boss is a known dual-elemental — like Sector 4's Earth + Cold — a balanced team often pairs one DPS from each element so both Burst pipelines can be filled in parallel.

Every hero in these tables also pairs well with the team-wide Shatter strippers from the Mechanic Specialists section above — Defense Shatter caps at 90% summed, so adding a Shatter stripper to any sector composition raises the team's effective DPS regardless of element.

Where these lists come from

Everything on this page is computed at build time from the game's own data files — no hand-curated lists, no theorycraft, no community estimates:

  • The character roster (games/7dso/data/characters.json) — provides each hero's weapons, weapon elements and weapon roles. Used for the Element × Role grid and the sector recommendations.
  • The English skill localisation — every local_skill_*_desc entry is matched against the relevant mechanic patterns ("decreases enemy Shatter Resistance", "<Element> Burst", etc.). Used for the Mechanic Specialists table and the per-sector Burst payoff lists.
  • The Timespace Junction data (games/7dso/data/dungeon-crack.json) — sector element pairs, recommended BP and time-attack thresholds. Boss identity is cross-referenced from the canonical sector table in the End-Game guide.

When a new hero releases or a kit gets reworked, this page picks up the change automatically the next time the build runs — same data path the rest of the site uses.
