The dragon

Ancient Dragon

The Ancient Dragon is the Sector 4 boss of the Timespace Junction. A massive single-target fight with very high HP and DEF, weak to Earth and Ice attacks, highly resistant to everything else.

"A giant dragon that has lived in Britannia since the distant past. It is as powerful as it is big."

2-star time≤ 4:00

Earth and Ice are the only elements the boss is actually weak to. Every other element gets reduced damage — you can finish the sector with off-element units, but it will be slow.

The dragon's shield phase

The dragon has a defensive shield the game internally calls the "Starsbook Shield". It's tied to the boss's phase changes — the dragon casts a skill to put the shield up, and a later skill to take it down. While the shield is up, expect damage to drop sharply.

  • The shield goes up as part of the dragon's own skill rotation (not triggered by you).
  • The shield comes back down when the dragon hits the next phase of its own kit.
  • A separate phase-change effect — the "meteor" attack — runs for about 16.5 seconds when the dragon transitions phases.

The exact damage reduction the shield grants is not shipped in the data files. The shield itself is just a visual/state tag — the real mitigation happens inside the compiled game engine. So this page won't quote you a percentage we can't source. If you want testing numbers from the community, the Discord is the place — once they can be backed by a data file, they'll come back to this page.

Who to bring

Every released hero with at least one Earth or Ice weapon, sorted into DPS, support, and Burst-state specialists. Same grid as the Roster Reference — if a new hero releases with Earth or Ice, they'll show up here automatically.

Main damage dealers (5)Daisy, Diane, Dreyfus, Jericho, Mannie
Supports & tanks (5)Clotho, Dredrin, Elaine, King, Tioreh
Heroes whose kit pays off in Earth or Ice Burst (7)Daisy, Diane, Dreyfus, Elaine, Jericho, Mannie, Tioreh

These picks cover the element side of the fight. The dragon's shield phase still shapes who actually clears it fastest — that's an engine-side mechanic this page can't quantify, see the section above.

Where this comes from

  • Boss identity & Sector 4 stats — from the Sector 4 boss balance entry (the same record that powers the Ancient Dragon boss page on this site for Timespace Junction). Stats, weaknesses and resistances are the in-fight values, not the open-world WL1 tuning.
  • Sector context (elements, BP, time) — from the Timespace Junction configuration data, re-read live so it auto-updates after each balance patch.
  • Roster picks — computed live from the released-hero list via the Roster Reference loader.
  • Defensive shield mechanic — traced through the boss's own skill behaviour entries that apply and remove the shield buff, plus the phase-change skill that triggers the meteor effect.
