Reroll

Should you reroll in Sword x Staff? You pull skills, not characters — what a fresh account chases on the Skill Prayer, the real Legendary rate, and a fast reroll loop.

2.41% Legendary / Skill pull
The short version

Rerolling is optional, not essential in Sword x Staff — and the reason is the game's design. You don't pull characters here: you freely choose your class and your power comes from the Skill Prayer, where a fresh account's ceiling is the active skills it pulls. A Legendary skill is 2.41% per pull on the standard Skill Prayer, so a reroll just tries to land one strong Legendary active skill early. The good news: launch mail and redeem codes hand you free Stellatie for several pulls right away — so you can chase a good opener without a long restart cycle. If you'd rather just play, the account is fine as-is; a reroll is a small head start, not a make-or-break.

Verdict

Is rerolling worth it?

Short answer: only if you want a faster start. Because you pick your class for free and pull skills rather than units, there's no single "must-have" character to chase — the question is whether your opening skills set you up well. Here is exactly what one Skill Prayer pull gives, accurate to the live game:

Common skill shard65.69%
Rare skill24%
Epic skill7.9%
Legendary skill2.41%

Most pulls return shards that merge into full skills, so even a "miss" builds toward your pool over time. That's a big reason a reroll is a convenience, not a requirement — keep an account the moment it has a Legendary active you're happy to build around.

Targeting

What to target

Aim for a Legendary active (attack) skill that fits your intended class line. The pool is large: there are 238 player skills in the game — 85 Legendary, 78 Epic and 75 Rare — of which 47 are Legendary attack skills built around dealing damage. At 2.41% per pull, landing one early is the whole point of a reroll.

How to choose — orientation, not a tier list

Which skill is "best" depends on the class you plan to grow into — and you have 18 classes to pick from, branching out of Warrior or Mage. As a rule of thumb (your call, not a hard ranking): a single-target nuke pairs with a burst line, a wide AoE skill suits a caster clearing packs, and a defensive/utility Legendary fits a tank or support. Match your opener to the role you want to play; you'll fill the rest of the kit from the pool as you go. See the Classes guide for what each line wants.

The loop

Fast reroll loop

The fastest reroll uses a guest / fresh account so you can restart in seconds. Each cycle:

  1. 1Start a guest / new accountBegin without binding to a platform login so you can wipe and retry instantly. Bind only once you decide to keep the account.
  2. 2Clear the tutorialPlay through the opening until the Skill Prayer and your in-game mail are unlocked — that's when free pulls become available.
  3. 3Claim launch mail + redeem codesCollect the launch / starter rewards from your mailbox and enter the current redeem codes — they grant free Stellatie and badges, which is what funds your reroll pulls.
  4. 4Pull the Skill PrayerSpend your free Stellatie on the standard Skill Prayer and check what you pulled against your target role (a Legendary active for your line).
  5. 5Keep or restartHappy with a Legendary active you want to build? Bind the account and move on to the beginner's guide. Otherwise wipe the guest account and loop again.
Know when to stop

At 2.41% per pull, a perfect opener can take many cycles — and shards from "misses" still progress a real account. If a reroll is dragging, it's almost always better to keep a decent account and pull as you play. A reroll is a head start, never a wall.
