  1. Open the Anomaly Commission menuGhost Boulevard Wild Rally has no fixed location — the truck patrols New Herland's eastern highway. Track from the commission menu to get the live position.
  2. Drive to Ghost BoulevardThe far eastern highway section of New Herland is designed around high-speed driving encounters. Get in a fast car — motorcycles work but are riskier at highway speeds.
  3. Identify the black-smoke truckHighway traffic is dense in this district. Lock onto the green trailer truck specifically trailing black smoke — it's the only tell that separates the anomaly from normal traffic.
  4. Block to force the revealPull in front of the truck and brake. Forcing it to stop drops the disguise and starts the Octowpus fight.
  5. Defeat OctowpusSame Octowpus you fight in Invasion! Octopus Trailer and Shadow of Whitetail — tentacle whip, ink spray, ground slam. Lv II HP pool.

Catching the Truck on Ghost Boulevard

  1. Open the Anomaly Commission menu and select Ghost Boulevard Wild Rally.
  2. The truck's live GPS position appears on the world map — your fast-travel anchor is the closest New Herland phone booth to the highway.
  3. Get into a fast 4-wheeled vehicle. Ghost Boulevard's highway speeds make motorcycles a liability — the dense traffic will spin you out before you catch up.
  4. Drive onto the eastern highway and use the live tracker. The truck moves randomly along the highway — predict its path rather than chase from behind.
  5. Visually verify: an otherwise-ordinary green trailer truck trailing thick black smoke. The smoke is your only identifying mark.
  6. Cut in front of the truck and brake hard — force it to halt. Side-impacts won't work; the block has to be from directly ahead.
  7. When the truck stops, the disguise drops, Octowpus reveals itself, and combat starts on the highway shoulder.
  8. Defeat Octowpus to clear the commission.

Boss: Octowpus

Same Octowpus that ambushes you on Invasion! Octopus Trailer (Unheard Shores Coastal Highway Z42) and Shadow of Whitetail (Miguel District road network). Ghost Boulevard Wild Rally is the third district-specific source — same tentacle whip, ink spray and ground slam, same Lv II HP pool. The fight is mechanically identical across all three commissions.

Slow telegraph, easy dodge. Same as the other two Octowpus commissions.

Ink spray

Tell: Octowpus puffs up briefly, then sprays ink in a forward cone.

Cone AoE with brief blind/slow debuff. Sidestep out before the spray lands.

Ground slam

Dodge

Tell: Multiple tentacles raise above ground level and slam down in sequence.

Wide radial AoE. Dodge away from the centre — the slam covers all close-combat range.

Pro Tips & Common Pitfalls

  • Ghost Boulevard's highway is the FASTEST road in the game. Don't try to chase the truck on a motorcycle — the dense traffic and high speeds will spin you out before you catch up.
  • Position your block on an empty stretch. Civilian vehicles trailing the truck will rear-end the stopped target and add Warrant Value (wanted level) from collateral damage.
  • If the truck slips past you, don't follow it across the district — return to the commission menu, re-track, and re-route to its new position.
  • Same Octowpus boss as Invasion! Octopus Trailer (Unheard Shores) and Shadow of Whitetail (Miguel District). Mastering the parry/dodge timings on any of the three transfers to all of them.
  • All three Octowpus commissions are weekly-resetting Lv II routine clears. Plan to do all three per cycle for parallel commission payouts — they share the chase mechanic but each pays out separately.
