  1. Fast-travel to eastern New HerlandFind the easternmost phone booth in the New Herland District — closest fast-travel anchor to the trigger park.
  2. Walk north toward Bigmouth BaoziThe local Bigmouth Baozi restaurant is a useful landmark — the trigger park is in the residential block adjacent to it, northeast of Flamingo Avenue.
  3. Spot the cloaked teddy bearSaddy Teddy sits frozen at the centre of an empty park, wearing a tattered cloak and holding a weapon. It does NOT attack until you approach its territory.
  4. Defeat Saddy TeddyA simple Lv III solo boss fight. No phase change, no element gate, no enrage — just a longer HP pool than typical Lv II commissions.
  5. Loot Lost Armor + claim the achievementLost Armor and Unextinguished Scale Armor drop on first kill. The "Little Bear's Patchwork" achievement unlocks on completion.

Reaching the Park

  1. Open the world map and fast-travel to the easternmost phone booth in New Herland District.
  2. Use the Bigmouth Baozi restaurant signage as your visual anchor — it's a distinctive landmark in the area.
  3. Walk north-east of Flamingo Avenue into the surrounding residential block.
  4. Find a small open park between buildings — empty of NPCs, with a single seated figure at its centre.
  5. Approach the figure. It's a teddy bear wearing a tattered cloak and gripping a weapon — Saddy Teddy.
  6. Saddy Teddy does NOT animate until you enter its territory radius. Walk inside the radius to start the fight.
  7. Defeat Saddy Teddy to clear the commission, claim the Lost Armor drop and unlock the achievement.

Boss: Saddy Teddy

A cloaked teddy bear anomaly with a single weapon — abandoned toy fused with whatever sentient layer this game's anomaly fabric runs on. The fight is mechanically the simplest Lv III commission in the game: no parry-only attacks, no enrage threshold, no minion adds. Saddy Teddy just hits hard with a small kit and outlasts low-DPS rosters through raw HP. The flavour is the entire reward, alongside the unique Lost Armor drop.

Heavy weapon swing

Dodge

Tell: Saddy Teddy raises the weapon over its head and pauses for a half-beat.

Single-target overhead. Wide dodge window thanks to the visible wind-up. Don't try to parry — the weight of the swing eats parry attempts.

Ground stomp

Dodge

Tell: Both feet brace and the ground beneath flashes briefly.

Short-range AoE shockwave. Dodge outward radially before the flash resolves.

Cloak whirl

Dodge

Tell: Saddy Teddy spins on the spot, the cloak fanning outward in a wide circle.

Mid-range 360° hit. Move outside the cloak's arc — there's no inside-the-rotation safespot.

Recommended Teams

Standard Lv III clear

Any meta DPS · the fight has no element or mechanic gate

  • NanallyNanallyMain DPS · Anima · longest single-target sustain
  • ZeroZeroSub-DPS · Cosmos · Charge rotation
  • SakiriSakiriSupport · Plasma · Support Skill triggers

Standard burst comp. Nanally outdamages Saddy Teddy's HP pool inside a single rotation if she's awakened.

Survival-focused team

If your DPS is undertuned for Lv III, swap in Adler for HP-shield uptime

  • HathorHathorMain DPS · Lakshana · parry-burst windows
  • AdlerAdlerSupport · Incantation · shield-support carry
  • AureliaAureliaSub-DPS · Psyche · damage continuity

Use Adler if you want to ignore the cloak whirl's tracking. Umbrella Arc on Adler keeps the team at near-full HP throughout the fight.

Pro Tips & Common Pitfalls

  • A Sad Bear Cries Not is one of the few anomalies that drops unique gear (Lost Armor + Unextinguished Scale Armor). These are not lootable elsewhere — make this commission a priority if you collect cosmetic gear pieces.
  • Saddy Teddy does NOT aggro until you walk into its territory radius. Use this to pre-position your camera and start the fight on your terms.
  • The cloak whirl is the only attack that punishes back-pedaling. Treat it as a melee-only attack and dodge through it, not away from it.
  • There was a recent maintenance fix for a bug where the commission could fail to trigger on arrival. If Saddy Teddy doesn't animate when you enter the park, log out and back in — most reports cleared the issue.
  • No Arc drop here. Plan your weekly anomaly route to clear this commission once for the unique gear and achievement, then stop reclearing.
