Seven Deadly Sins: Origin King Staff Team — Team Guide

King is not a one-comp hero. On the Staff he is a Bloom self-scaling Holy carry (Shining Blaze 433%, ramped by Bloom → Full Bloom), and his Combined-Attack bonus is a team-wide +30% Magic Charging Efficiency — so the community runs him both as a damage carry and as a battery inside someone else's team. This guide takes the comp straight from what is actually run with him (the 21 most-popular live King teams), and is honest about a key difference from the Escanor/Daisy/Meliodas guides: King's usage is far less concentrated, so this reads the recurring partners rather than pretending there is one locked flagship.

The short version

What the data actually shows for King

Honesty first, because King's data is different. There are 21 popular King teams (a smaller, less concentrated sample than Escanor's 23 Axe, Daisy's 29 Book or Meliodas's 26 Sword1h). King's weapon is left unspecified in most of those builds, and the partner spread is flat: Elaine 10/21, Meliodas 10/21, Mannie 9/21, then Diane 6, Daisy 6, Jericho 5. There is no single dominant partner the way Mannie dominated the others — so this guide reports the recurring picks and King's two real roles, not a fake locked core.

The kit explains the flexibility. On the Staff, King is a Holy carry: Tempest Staff and Holy Swarm stack Bloom (+1% Attack each, max 15), which converts to Full Bloom, and Shining Blaze deals 433% scaled by Bloom. But his Combined-Attack bonus grants all allies +30% Magic Charging Efficiency for 40 sec — a strong battery effect. So King is run two ways: as the Bloom Staff carry with a support shell, or as a Magic-Charging battery slotted into another carry's team (which is why Meliodas appears in 10 of his teams).

Practical flagship, stated as what it is — the recurring core, not a locked combo: King (Staff) + Elaine + Mannie + a flex (Meliodas / Daisy / Diane / Jericho). Elaine is the most recurring partner because her Staff kit is a universal Burst support that fits any element; Mannie is the usual battery. Build King on the Staff if you want him as a carry; slot him as the +30% Magic-Charging battery if your carry is someone else.

  • Most recurring partnerElaine10 / 21 — universal Burst support.
  • Tied #1 / battery useMeliodas10 / 21 — King often the battery here.

Strengths

  • Built from real usage: the 21 most-popular live community King teams — and honest that the sample is smaller and flatter than the other team guides.
  • Every pick is justified by the partner's own kit data, not vibes.
  • King Staff is genuinely dual-role: a Bloom self-scaling Holy carry (Shining Blaze 433%) AND a +30% team Magic-Charging battery via his Combined-Attack bonus.
  • Elaine (10/21) is element-agnostic support: her Staff Forest's Blessing cuts allies' damage taken 15% and shreds enemy All-Elemental Burst Resistance — fits King in any role.
  • Mannie (9/21) is the same universal battery as in the Escanor/Daisy/Meliodas metas — reliable backbone.
  • Flexibility is a strength: King slots into more teams than a locked carry because of the Magic-Charging bonus.

Weaknesses

  • Lower data confidence — 21 teams, no dominant weapon recorded, flat partner spread. Treat the core as 'recurring', not 'optimal-locked'.
  • King-Staff focus — his Book (Warden) and Wand (Earth Supporter) paths are different roles not covered here.
  • As a carry he needs Bloom ramp time; opening damage is low until Bloom/Full Bloom is built.
  • Three SSRs if you run King + Elaine + Mannie + an SSR flex — an invested-account team.
  • His Combined-Attack table exists but, as with the other carries, is not how the team is actually built.

What people actually run with King — and the caveat

The recurring partners across the 21 most-popular live King teams, stated honestly.

Pulled from the live community team feed: 21 popular King teams. Unlike Escanor (23/30 Axe), Daisy (29/30 Book) or Meliodas (26/30 Sword1h), King's slot weapon is unspecified in most builds and the partner spread is flat — Elaine 10, Meliodas 10, Mannie 9, then Diane 6, Daisy 6, Jericho 5. That is a real signal of how he is played (flexible, multi-role), not a single locked comp, and this guide says so rather than inventing false precision.

The recurring trio that does emerge is King + Elaine + Mannie, with a rotating fourth (Meliodas / Daisy / Diane / Jericho). The next sections explain each from kit data, and flag where King is the carry versus where he is the battery.

King partner usage (live popular teams, flat spread)

  • Elaine — 10 / 21Most recurring. Staff Forest's Blessing: −15% allies' damage taken + enemy All-Elemental Burst-Res shred — fits King in any role.
  • Meliodas — 10 / 21Tied #1 — usually King acting as the +30% Magic-Charging battery for a Meliodas carry team.
  • Mannie — 9 / 21The universal cooldown/Magic battery, as in every other team guide here.
  • Diane / Daisy / Jericho — 6 / 6 / 5The real rotating fourth slot — pick by your roster and whether King is carry or battery.
The subject · dual role

King — Bloom Staff carry, or Magic-Charging battery

Why he is run two different ways, straight from his kit.

King on the Staff is a Holy Attacker built on Bloom. Tempest Staff grants 1 Bloom stack (max 15; Bloom = +1% Attack each) and deals 166%; Holy Swarm deals 245% and grants Bloom equal to enemies hit; his passive Fairy King grants Bloom on crits and on hitting a Burst-active enemy. At max Bloom it converts to Full Bloom, and Shining Blaze, his Ultimate, deals 433% increased by 2% per Bloom stack (more with Full Bloom). That is a self-scaling Holy carry that needs ramp time.

But his Combined-Attack bonus is the other half of his identity: using a Combined Attack with his Ultimate as base grants all allied heroes +30% Magic Charging Efficiency for 40 sec (and converts his Bloom into Full Bloom). That is a powerful team battery. This is exactly why his community usage is split and flat — he is sometimes the carry, sometimes the battery in someone else's team (notably Meliodas, 10/21). The guide treats both honestly rather than forcing one.

King Staff — the dual-role kit (in-game data)

  1. FirstTempest StaffCD 7.5s

    +1 Bloom (max 15, +1% Attack each) and 166%. The Bloom-ramp opener.

  2. SecondHoly SwarmCD 12s

245% and Bloom equal to enemies hit (max 15).

  3. UltimateShining BlazeCD 10s

433%, +2% per Bloom stack (more with Full Bloom). As Combined-Attack base: +30% team Magic Charging Efficiency for 40 sec.

  4. PassiveFairy King

Gains Bloom on a Critical Hit and when attacking a Burst-active enemy (max 15).

Slot · most recurring (10/21)

Elaine — the universal Burst support

Why she is King's most recurring partner regardless of his role.

Elaine is in 10 of 21 popular King teams — the single most recurring partner. On the Staff she is a Holy Buster whose Ultimate, Forest's Blessing, decreases nearby allies' damage taken by 15% and lowers enemies' All-Elemental Burst Resistance, and her passive Saintess's Aid increases her All-Elemental Burst Efficiency by 20% and restores 2 Magic Points on Burst. "All-Elemental" is the key word: her support is element-agnostic, so it works whether King is the Holy carry or a battery for a different-element carry. That flexibility is exactly why she pairs with the flexible King more than anyone.

She is also run on her Wand (Wind Attacker, Wind Blast 402%) when she is the carry and King is the battery — another reflection of how interchangeable these two roles are in King teams.

Elaine Staff — the universal support (in-game data)

  1. UltimateForest's Blessing

−15% nearby allies' damage taken; lowers enemies' All-Elemental Burst Resistance.

  2. PassiveSaintess's Aid

    +20% her All-Elemental Burst Efficiency; +2 Magic Points on Burst — element-agnostic.

Slot · the battery (9/21)

Mannie — the universal battery (again)

The same cooldown/Magic enabler that anchors every other team guide here.

Mannie on the Staff is in 9 of 21 popular King teams. Her role is identical to the Escanor, Daisy and Meliodas metas: Flash Explosion resets all allies' Normal Skill cooldowns, her Dragon Priestess passive refills 15 Magic on Normal Attacks and adds +30% Ultimate Move damage versus a Punishment-affected enemy, and Priestess's Blessing grants +30% Crit Damage and +25% Magic Charging Efficiency.

She stacks especially well with King: King's own Combined-Attack bonus is +30% team Magic Charging, and Mannie adds another +25% on top plus Magic refills — a Magic-Charging-heavy core that benefits any Magic-hungry carry in the fourth slot.

Mannie Staff — why she is core (in-game data)

  1. FirstPriestess's Blessing

Allies gain +30% Crit Damage and +25% Magic Charging Efficiency for 15 sec.

  2. UltimateFlash Explosion

Resets the Normal Skill cooldowns of all allied heroes.

  3. PassiveDragon Priestess

Normal Attack restores 15 Magic Gauge; +30% Ultimate Move damage vs a Punishment-affected enemy.

Slot 4 · the rotating pick

The fourth slot — Meliodas / Daisy / Diane / Jericho

The real rotating options, and which one depends on King's role.

The fourth slot is genuinely rotating in the data, not a single pick. If King is the Bloom Staff carry, Daisy (6/21, Book crit-support) and Mannie cover his crit and cooldowns. If King is the battery, the slot is a second carry — Meliodas (10/21, as covered in its own guide) or Jericho (5/21). Diane (6/21) appears as an Earth carry/utility option. This is the editorial part: pick by whether King is carrying and by your roster.

Use the live team builder below to test the fourth slot against what you own — that is exactly what the flat usage data says players are doing with King.

Slot 4 — the real rotating options (live usage order)

  • Meliodas — 10/21When King is the +30% Magic-Charging battery for a Meliodas carry team (see the Meliodas team guide).
  • Diane / Daisy — 6 / 6Diane as Earth carry/utility; Daisy Book crit-support when King is the carry.
  • Jericho — 5/21Alternative carry in the fourth slot.
Execution

Team rotation (King as the Staff carry)

Every step uses only mechanics written in the heroes' in-game data.

This rotation assumes King is the Bloom Staff carry; if King is the battery, swap roles — he provides the +30% Magic Charging and the fourth-slot carry does the dump. Nothing here is a fabricated number.

Opening → burst

  • 1 · Elaine + Mannie set upElaine: Forest's Blessing (−15% allies' damage taken, −enemy All-Elemental Burst Res). Mannie: Priestess's Blessing (+30% Crit Damage, +25% Magic Charging).
  • 2 · King ramps BloomSpam Tempest Staff and Holy Swarm; Fairy King also grants Bloom on crits / Burst-active enemies. Stack toward max (15) → Full Bloom.
  • 3 · Mannie resetsFlash Explosion resets King's Normal Skill cooldowns — re-ramp Bloom faster and refresh the support buffs.
  • 4 · Combined AttackTrigger the Combined Attack with King's Shining Blaze as base: +30% team Magic Charging for 40 sec and his Bloom converts to Full Bloom.
  • 5 · Dump Shining BlazeWith Full Bloom and high Bloom stacks, Shining Blaze's 433% is scaled hard (+2% per stack); inside Elaine's Burst-Res shred and Mannie's Crit Damage.
Honesty section

King's Combined-Attack table — and why the team is built on usage

Reconciling the raw data numbers with what is actually played.

King has a Combined-Attack table (13 pairwise entries, 3 verified 3-hero combos), and unlike most his combo bonus is genuinely team-defining: +30% Magic Charging Efficiency to all allies for 40 sec, plus the Bloom→Full Bloom conversion. That bonus is real and is part of why he is run as a battery — so here the table actually informs his role, more than it did for Escanor/Daisy/Meliodas.

But the team itself still comes from live usage, not the raw payload ranking, and the honest caveat stands: King's usage is flat and his sample smaller, so this guide presents recurring picks and his two roles rather than a single optimal locked comp. That is the correct read of this hero's data, consistent with how the other team guides separate usage from the raw table.

Build direction

Gearing King

Different stats depending on whether he is the carry or the battery.

As the Staff carry, King wants Attack, Crit and Holy damage to convert his Bloom/Full Bloom scaling and Shining Blaze. As the battery, survivability and uptime matter more than his own damage since his value is the +30% Magic Charging Combined-Attack bonus. Use the community build tool below to copy a full King Staff loadout for the role you want, and the team builder to test King + Elaine + Mannie + your flex against your roster.

Quick answers

FAQ

Why is this guide more cautious than the Escanor/Daisy/Meliodas ones?
Because King's data genuinely is. Those heroes had 23–29 of 30 popular teams on one weapon and a dominant partner (Mannie 26/30 etc.). King has 21 teams, his weapon unspecified in most, and a flat partner spread (Elaine 10, Meliodas 10, Mannie 9). Honest reporting means stating the recurring picks and his two roles, not faking a locked optimal team.
Is King a carry or a support?
Both, by design. On the Staff he is a Bloom self-scaling Holy carry (Shining Blaze 433%, ramped by Bloom → Full Bloom). His Combined-Attack bonus gives all allies +30% Magic Charging Efficiency for 40 sec, so he is also run as a battery in another carry's team — which is why Meliodas appears in 10 of his 21 teams.
Why Elaine as the most recurring partner?
Her Staff kit is element-agnostic: Forest's Blessing cuts allies' damage taken 15% and shreds enemies' All-Elemental Burst Resistance, and Saintess's Aid boosts her All-Elemental Burst Efficiency. That works whether King is the Holy carry or a battery for a different-element carry — flexibility that matches flexible King. She is in 10 of 21 teams.
What's the fourth slot?
It genuinely rotates: Meliodas (10/21, usually with King as his battery), Diane or Daisy (6/21 each), or Jericho (5/21). Pick by whether King is carrying and by your roster, and test in the team builder — the flat data is itself the answer.
Is any of this invented?
No. The team comes from live community usage (21 popular King teams) and every 'why' is read from the heroes' in-game skill data. The lower data confidence is stated up front rather than hidden, and King's Combined-Attack bonus is reported because it genuinely informs his battery role.

Sources & method

The team is taken from real community usage (the live most-popular King team feed); every mechanical reason is read directly from the heroes' own in-game skill data. King's lower data concentration is stated openly, not smoothed over. Nothing is invented; the role split and the slot-4 reasoning are our editorial reading of that usage plus public kits.
