The new potion in one line

The Brilliant Potion of Charm is the latest Charm Potion, and it slots in at 67% base catch rate, right between the Concentrated (60%) and the Radiant (80%). The headline: it is the strongest potion you can craft. The Radiant hits harder, but it only drops, so when your Radiants run low the Brilliant is your best made-to-order throw.

All five potions compared

Same job, five strengths. The base rate is the potion's own catch chance before a pet's resistance is subtracted, so a higher tier is what lets you tame a tougher beast. Four of the five are crafted at the Production bench for materials only, no gold; the Radiant is the lone drop.

Reading the rates

The four older tiers climb in even 20-point steps: 20, 40, 60, then 80. The Brilliant breaks that rhythm at 67, a 7-point bump over the Concentrated and 13 short of the Radiant. Its value is not the raw number, it is that it is craftable: the only potion above it, the Radiant, you cannot make at all.

Why the tier matters

Your real catch chance is potion base rate minus the pet's resistance, then a bonus once the target is under 10% HP. A pet that resists 60% gives you a flat zero with a 60% Concentrated at full health, but the 67% Brilliant opens a 7% window, and more once it is nearly dead. Under-tier the potion and the odds are zero no matter how low you drop the beast.

That is the whole reason the tiers exist: the rare pets carry a higher resistance, so they demand a stronger potion. The full pet-by-pet breakdown lives in the Capturable Pets & Mounts guide.

Crafting the Brilliant

One Brilliant takes 3 Concentrated Potions, plus 3 Rare Concentrated Sap and 2 Malachite, and 28s at the bench. Because it eats three Concentrated, the real bill is the whole chain underneath it. Here is what one Brilliant costs from raw materials, crafting every step yourself:

The batch sizes do not divide evenly, so you finish with 1 High-purity and 2 Faint to spare, ready for the next catch.

Want the step-by-step chain (Faint, High-purity, Concentrated, then Brilliant) with each recipe side by side? It is laid out in the crafting table of the pets guide.

Which potion to bring

Match the potion to the pet's resistance. Bring the listed tier as a floor; one step higher just makes the odds comfortable, and the low-HP bonus stacks on top.

  • Faintresists 0% (Grade 1 critters)Almost anything lands them once weakened.
  • High-purityresists 10 to 30%Early mounts like the Bisons and Marincat.
  • Concentratedresists 40 to 49%Foxes, the camel, the Curious Wild Dragon.
  • Brilliantresists 55 to 60%The wild dragons, Brion: the Brilliant's real window.
  • Radiantresists 70%+ (difficulty 5)Trophy mounts and flyers, Dark Abyss Flare. Radiant only.
Where the Brilliant earns its slot

On the 55 to 60% wall, the Concentrated has dropped to a coin-flip-at-best and you may not want to spend a Radiant. That is the Brilliant's lane: a craftable potion that still gives the wild dragons and Brion a workable chance. Above 70%, only the Radiant clears it.

New pets in 1.6

The 1.6 update added three pets, and all three are top-end elites you catch with a Charm Potion. They resist so hard that only the Radiant opens a real window, so weaken each one under 10% HP before you throw.

FAQ

What is the Brilliant Potion of Charm?

It's a Charm Potion, the throwable item that catches wild pets. It has a 67% base catch rate, which sits between the Concentrated (60%) and the Radiant (80%), and it is the strongest one you can craft yourself.

Is the Brilliant Potion better than the Radiant?

No, the Radiant is stronger at 80% base versus 67%. The Brilliant's edge is that you can craft it on demand, while the Radiant only drops. Use the Brilliant when you are out of Radiants and the pet is not a difficulty-5 wall.

How do you get the Brilliant Potion of Charm?

You craft it at the Production bench from 3 Concentrated Potions, 3 Rare Concentrated Sap and 2 Malachite, for materials only with no gold cost. It does not drop.

What does one Brilliant Potion cost to craft from scratch?

Crafting every step yourself, one Brilliant works out to 6 Refined Glass, 6 Common Concentrated Sap, 8 Fine Concentrated Sap, 8 Seashore Sowthistle, 9 Rare Concentrated Sap, 6 Flower Petals of Pure Love and 2 Malachite, about 2.9 minutes of crafting. The batches leave you 1 High-purity and 2 Faint potions spare.

Which Charm Potion should I use?

Match the tier to the pet's resistance. Faint or High-purity for the easy Grade 1 to 2 catches, Concentrated for mid-tier, the Brilliant for the 55 to 60% wall (the wild dragons, Brion), and the Radiant for the difficulty-5 trophies that nothing else can crack.

Sources & method

  • Potion catch rates are the per-tier values from the live game data, the same numbers each pet's page uses; the catch chance is rate minus the pet's resistance, plus the low-HP bonus.
  • Recipes, craft times and yields follow the in-game Production recipes; the from-scratch totals are those recipes resolved down the chain in whole batches.
  • The Radiant has no recipe in the current version and is obtained as a drop, cross-checked against community sources and live events.
