What it is, in one line

Start here

Aniimo is a free-to-play open-world creature collector RPG where players capture, train and merge with creatures called Aniimo through a unique mechanic called Twining.

Who it is for

If you like open-world creature-collector rpg and systems like Twining, Capture, Combat, Aniimo is aimed at you. If those systems are not your thing, no amount of polish will change that — judge it by them, not by the trailer.

Cost

Free-to-play — the detailed monetization model (including whether it uses gacha) has not been disclosed yet. You can try it at launch for nothing.

Can you play it yet?

Not yet — FunPlus targets Q3 2026 (a window, not a confirmed date).

What you actually do in-game

The 6 announced gameplay pillars — what each system is and why it matters.

Twining

The signature mechanic. Players fully synchronize with their active Aniimo, taking direct control of that creature. Twining grants the Aniimo's complete movement options and skill set — aerial Aniimo unlock vertical paths, aquatic Aniimo enable underwater traversal, small Aniimo squeeze through tight spaces. Combat damage scales up while Twined.

Capture

Wild Aniimo are captured with Aniipods. Capture rate scales with positioning, timing, target weakening and Aniipod tier. A researcher-style progression unlocks higher-tier Aniipods and capture efficiencies.

Combat

Real-time ARPG combat in two layers: classic trainer mode (issue commands to the active Aniimo while playing the human Pathfinder) and Twined mode (play as the Aniimo). Up to 8 combat skills + 2 traits + 1 Homeland skill per Aniimo. Stats include HP, ATK, P.DEF, M.DEF, BREAK and REGEN.

Progression

Pathfinder (player) grows via combat XP, consumables, stat variance and wardrobe unlocks. Aniimo evolve through stages (Lumin → Gamma → Nova) and gain Resonance Training tiers, regional forms, weather forms, Sparkling forms and Prismana variants.

Homeland

A personal customisable home base with farming, harvesting, decoration and Aniimo housing. Aniimo have Homeland Skills that affect chores and habitat productivity.

Co-op + Egg Heist

2–4 player exploration co-op across the world of Idyll, plus the 3v3 PvPvE Egg Heist mode introduced in CB2 — teams raid sanctums on the Lost Isles to steal Aniimo eggs.

Announced roster

88 characters / entities officially revealed for Aniimo so far.

Monetization (officially confirmed)

How it makes money

Aniimo is free-to-play with in-app purchases listed on its store pages. The detailed monetization model has not been disclosed publicly — no announced gacha pity or pull rates as of June 2026; cosmetic shops (including a blind-box store in Astra) have been shown in beta builds.
