Seven Deadly Sins: Origin Drake — Hero Guide

Drake is the king of the Dracos and, like every three-weapon hero, three units in one slot. Every weapon is Thunder, but the role changes completely: a King's-Magic Attacker on Greatsword, an Electric-Current debuff Supporter on Staff, or a Pulse Burst-enabler on Sword. He also owns the single highest Combined-Attack base in the game. This guide reads every line of his in-game data so you know exactly which Drake to bring.

The short version

Should you build Drake?

Drake is one of the highest-value heroes in the game, and unusually all three of his weapons are Thunder but each takes a different role. Greatsword is a King's-Magic stacking Attacker whose Ultimate is the single biggest Combined-Attack base hit in the data (461% of Attack). Staff is a Lightning debuff Supporter built on Electric Current, Shock and Paralysis. Sword is a Buster — a Pulse engine that feeds the team Burst Gauge and shreds Lightning Burst Resistance.

If you only invest in one path, Greatsword is the headline: it is a strong standalone carry and, because its 461% Ultimate is the top Combined-Attack payload in the game, it is the reason Drake is the most-requested combo partner across nearly every other hero's list. Staff is the pick for Lightning teams that want resistance and Crit-Defence shred. Sword is the specialist Buster for Lightning-Burst compositions.

Bottom line: Drake is worth building, and the Greatsword path in particular is a top-tier carry and the best Combined-Attack base in the game. Pick the path that fixes a hole in your roster — a Thunder carry, a Lightning debuffer, or a Burst-gauge Buster.

  • Greatsword pathThunder AttackerTop Combined-Attack base (461%).
  • Staff pathThunder SupportElectric Current / Paralysis shred.
  • Sword pathThunder BusterPulse Burst-gauge engine.

Strengths

  • Three full Thunder kits in one hero — Greatsword (Attacker), Staff (Supporter), Sword (Buster).
  • Greatsword Ultimate Lightning Dragon's Wrath is the single highest Combined-Attack base in the data (461% of Attack).
  • Lightning Stream stacks King's Magic (+10% Lightning Attack, +5% Crit Chance per stack, max 3) and the Ultimate gains +30% damage per stack.
  • Passive King of the Dragons feeds heavy cooldown reduction, enabling near-constant skill uptime.
  • Staff layers Electric Current (−Crit Defence), Shock and Paralysis (−15% Lightning Resistance) for a whole Lightning team.
  • Sword's Pulse grants every ally Burst Gauge and the Ultimate strips −30% Lightning Burst Resistance.

Weaknesses

  • Building all three paths is expensive — most accounts realistically commit to one.
  • All three paths are mono-element Thunder, so he wants Lightning-favourable content.
  • Staff is a pure debuff support — low personal damage outside a Lightning team.
  • Sword's value is gated behind Pulse uptime and a Lightning-Burst composition.
  • Greatsword needs a short King's-Magic ramp before the Ultimate hits its full multiplier.

Path 1 · Thunder · Attacker

Greatsword — the King's-Magic carry

The headline path: a strong standalone Thunder carry and the best Combined-Attack base in the game.

The Greatsword identity is King's Magic. Lightning Stream grants King's Magic on its first strike — up to three stacks, each giving +10% Lightning Attack and +5% Crit Chance — and his Ultimate, Lightning Dragon's Wrath, hits for 461% of Attack with a further +30% damage for every King's Magic stack on him. That 461% base is the single largest Combined-Attack payload in the game's data, which is why Drake tops nearly every other hero's combo-partner list.

The kit sustains itself through cooldowns: Piercing Slash (a 7.5-second skill) shortens the Normal Skill cooldown per hit — an extra 2 seconds against Lightning-Burst targets — and the passive King of the Dragons grants a stacking 10% Cooldown Reduction whenever you use the Normal Skill. Build a few King's Magic stacks, keep the cooldown engine rolling, then detonate the Ultimate inside a Combined Attack.

Path 2 · Thunder · Supporter

Staff — the Lightning debuff support

Not a solo carry. This path exists to make a Lightning team hit far harder through layered debuffs.

Staff turns Drake into a Lightning enabler. The passive Regal Authority applies Electric Current on Normal Attacks (−8% Crit Defence per stack, up to 5) and rewards the whole team: any ally attacking an Electric-Current target gains +5% Lightning Attack per stack, plus +15% Crit Chance when the enemy is Paralyzed. Lightning Tempest stacks Electric Current and applies Paralysis to Shocked targets — incapacitating them and cutting 15% Lightning Resistance.

Lightning Spear converts 3+ Electric Current into Shock (a spreading Lightning damage-over-time), and the Ultimate Lightning Overdrive scales up against high Electric-Current targets and auto-crits Paralyzed enemies. Outside a Lightning composition this value collapses — build it deliberately as a Lightning support core.

Path 3 · Thunder · Buster

Sword — the Pulse Burst engine

A Buster path: it feeds the whole team Burst Gauge and shreds enemy Lightning Burst Resistance.

Sword is built around Pulse. The Pulse skill grants every allied hero a damage aura that, when it hits enemies, builds Burst Gauge for the team; Bolt Slash adds a further +20 Burst Gauge every 3 hits while Pulse is active, and the passive The King in Arms raises Lightning Burst Efficiency by 30% during Pulse. The Ultimate, Phantom Blade, hits for 239% and lowers the enemy's Lightning Burst Resistance by 30% for 30 seconds.

Taken together this is a Burst-gauge battery for a Lightning-Burst team — it accelerates everyone's Burst and softens the target for Lightning Bursts. It is a specialist support-adjacent path; build it for dedicated Lightning-Burst compositions, not as a generic carry.

Potential priority

Each path has its own Potential track unlocked with Drake's Potential Points (Exchange Shop, server-capped).

Across all three paths the pattern is the same: odd levels (1, 3, 8) are flat Attack / Defense / Max HP, while even levels are the meaningful skill amplifiers. You feel the jumps at the amp levels, so prioritise reaching them.

What the amp levels actually do (per data)

  • GreatswordLv2 Normal +20%, Lv4 Special Attack +35%, Lv6 Normal Skill +70%, Lv7 +2 max King's Magic and more Normal Skill damage, Lv9 Ultimate +30% and a bigger Ultimate damage boost, Lv10 Ultimate first strike +180% Attack.
  • StaffLv2 Normal +20%, Lv4 Special Attack +35%, Lv5 +12% Normal Skill damage per Electric Current stack, Lv6 Normal Skill +30%, Lv9 bigger Ultimate vs 5+ Electric Current, Lv10 Ultimate +30% and +50% Crit Damage on crit.
  • SwordLv2 Tag +25%, Lv4 Special Attack +35%, Lv5 Ultimate +4 hits and +15% power, Lv6 Normal Skill +30%, Lv7 Special Attack +65% and more Burst Gauge, Lv9 Ultimate +30% Burst-Resistance reduction, Lv10 wider Pulse and more Burst Gauge.
Weapons & skins

Weapon and gear direction

Drake's compatible grade-5 weapons and what their passives reward.

Drake's compatible grade-5 weapons with passives are limited, so the universal pick is Black Flame Wings (activating a Burst → +28% Attack and +6% Crit Chance for 10 sec), available on Greatsword, Staff and Sword. Note the Gluttonous Soul Longsword grants Darkness damage — off-element for a Thunder hero, so prefer Black Flame Wings or a crit-focused grade-4 there. On the Greatsword carry the Burst window matters most; on the support/Buster paths, raw-damage weapons matter less than his team utility.

Notable compatible weapons (data-listed)

  • Black Flame Wings (g5)Activating a Burst → +28% Attack and +6% Crit Chance for 10 sec. Available on Greatsword, Staff and Sword.
  • Crimson Flame (g4)Activating a Burst → +28% Attack for 10 sec — a strong budget option on every path.
  • Jet-black (g4)Using the Ultimate Move → 20% chance of +50% Crit Chance for 7 sec; great on the Greatsword carry.
  • Gluttonous Soul Longsword (g5)Each Normal Skill use → +9% Darkness damage (max 18%). Off-element for Thunder Drake — avoid in favour of Black Flame Wings.

Costumes

Drake ships with the default Dragon Descendent costume, a grade-4 skin Oath of the Throne, and two grade-5 skins in the data: Glory of the Past and Shadow Lord.

Quick answers

FAQ

Which Drake weapon should I build first?
Greatsword, almost always. It is a strong standalone Thunder carry and its Ultimate is the single biggest Combined-Attack base in the game (461% of Attack), which is why Drake is the most-requested combo partner across the roster. Build Staff for a Lightning debuff team, and Sword only for dedicated Lightning-Burst compositions.
Why is Drake the top Combined-Attack partner everywhere?
His Greatsword Ultimate, Lightning Dragon's Wrath, has a 461%-of-Attack base — the highest Combined-Attack payload in the game's data — and gains a further +30% per King's Magic stack. That makes him the biggest single combo hit you can slot into almost any team.
Is the Staff path good?
Inside a Lightning team it is strong: Electric Current shreds Crit Defence, Shock spreads a Lightning DoT, Paralysis cuts Lightning Resistance, and the passive grants allies +5% Lightning Attack per Electric-Current stack. Outside a Lightning composition it does very little — it is a build-around support.
Who is Drake's best Combined-Attack partner?
By the damage values in his data, Meliodas (449%) is the highest, followed by King (433%) and Howzer (406%). His own Greatsword Ultimate is the 461% base, so Drake himself is usually the carry the combo is built around.
What does his world passive do?
Treasure Detection highlights nearby treasure chests by detecting the energy in them, and it activates simply by owning him. It is a pure exploration-economy bonus with no combat effect — it does not change his damage.
