Dreyfus SR
The Liones swordsmanship instructor — three distinct SR kits.
Dreyfus — the swordsmanship instructor of the Kingdom of Liones and former Grandmaster of the Holy Knights — is a free SR three-weapon hero with three very different roles. Rapier is a non-elemental DoT support that stacks Weaken and buffs the whole team's damage over time, One-Handed Sword is an Earth Attacker that punishes Pride targets, and Lance is a Holy crit Attacker built around Surge stacks. This guide reads every line of his in-game data so you know exactly which Dreyfus to bring.

Should you build Dreyfus?
Dreyfus is a free SR whose three weapons cover three genuinely different jobs. His stats and multipliers are SR-tier — smaller flat values because Dreyfus is an SR, not an endgame damage headliner — but each path is well defined. Rapier is a non-elemental DoT support: Sting Breaker and Flash Drop stack Weaken (each stack increases DoT taken by 5%, max 5), Light Bomber Stuns for 8 sec when Weaken hits max, and the passive Lacerating Strike raises every allied hero's DoT by 15%. One-Handed Sword is an Earth Attacker built around Pride: Terra Slash applies Pride (the caster deals +20% to that target), Earth Blade's cooldown drops 50% against a Pride target, and Earth Break hits 400% with +50% to Petrified enemies. Lance is a Holy crit Attacker that snowballs Surge stacks into Enhanced Surge for a guaranteed-crit 424% Ultimate.
If you only invest in one path, match it to your team: Rapier for any DoT composition that wants a +15% team DoT amplifier plus Weaken stacking, One-Handed Sword for a self-amplifying Earth bruiser that loves a Petrify/Earth-Burst setup, or Lance for a Holy crit Attacker if you can keep Surge rolling. As an SR he is cheap to ascend, which makes the Rapier support path especially accessible value.
Bottom line: Dreyfus is worth building as a free, budget multi-role piece — especially Rapier as a team DoT enabler. He will not headline an endgame team, but he is an accessible support/Attacker hybrid while you build toward premium SSRs.
Strengths
- Free SR — every account can field him, and he is cheap to ascend.
- Three full kits in one hero — Rapier (DoT Support), One-Handed Sword (Earth Attacker), Lance (Holy Attacker).
- Rapier passive Lacerating Strike: increases all allied heroes' DoT by 15%.
- Rapier Light Bomber Stuns for 8 sec once Weaken reaches max stacks.
- One-Handed Sword Terra Slash applies Pride: +20% damage taken from the caster for 10 sec.
- Lance builds Surge → Enhanced Surge for a guaranteed-crit 424% Light Spear Ultimate.
Weaknesses
- SR rarity — low base stats and SR-tier multipliers; not an endgame damage carry.
- Rapier's value is conditional — its DoT support pays off best inside a DoT/Bleed/Shock composition.
- One-Handed Sword leans on Pride and Petrify/Earth-Burst setups to get its full damage.
- Lance needs steady Surge generation to keep Enhanced Surge online for the crit Ultimate.
- His combined-attack data ships no team-bonus text — he contributes utility, not a fixed combo debuff.
Weapon paths
Dreyfus swaps the entire kit with the weapon you equip. Pick the path that matches the team you are building.
Rapier
A non-elemental DoT support: stack Weaken, Stun on max stacks, and a +15% team DoT passive.
- Sting Breaker: 83% and the final strike inflicts 1 Weaken stack for 40 sec (Weaken: +5% DoT taken, max 5).
- Piercing Lightning: 140% and restores 150 Tag Gauge per Weaken stack on the enemy.
- Ultimate Light Bomber: 161% and Stuns for 8 sec when Weaken is at max stacks.
- Passive Lacerating Strike: +15% DoT for all allied heroes.
One-Handed Sword
An Earth Attacker built around the Pride debuff and a heavy Earth Ultimate.
- Terra Slash: 162% and inflicts Pride for 10 sec (caster deals +20% to that target).
- Earth Blade: 256%; cooldown is cut 50% against a Pride-affected enemy.
- Ultimate Earth Break: 400% and +50% damage to Petrified enemies.
- Passive Grandmaster's Honor: +20% damage vs an enemy with Earth Burst active.
Lance
A Holy crit Attacker that snowballs Surge into Enhanced Surge for a guaranteed-crit Ultimate.
- Holy Stab: 15% chance per use to gain a Surge stack (Surge: +8% Crit Damage, max 5 → Enhanced Surge: +40%).
- Sacred Breaker: 180% and grants Surge; attacking a Burst-active enemy grants an extra Surge stack.
- Pillar of Light: 287% and Stuns for 5 sec while the hero has Surge.
- Ultimate Light Spear: 424%; a guaranteed Critical Hit if the hero has Enhanced Surge (then consumed).
Rapier — the DoT-stacking team support
The team-enabler path: stack Weaken, Stun on max stacks, and a +15% team DoT passive.
Rapier is Dreyfus' non-elemental support. Sting Breaker deals 83% and its final strike applies 1 Weaken stack for 40 seconds — Weaken increases DoT taken by 5% and stacks up to 5 times. Flash Drop deals 73% and applies 2 Weaken stacks per hit when the target is Shocked or Bleeding, so against a DoT team it ramps Weaken fast. Piercing Lightning deals 140% and restores 150 Tag Gauge for every Weaken stack on the enemy, turning the debuff into tag economy. His Ultimate, Light Bomber, deals 161% and Stuns the enemy for 8 seconds once Weaken reaches max stacks.
The reason to run Rapier is the passive Lacerating Strike: it increases every allied hero's DoT by 15%, and attacking a Shocked or Bleeding enemy decreases the DoT interval by 20% for 15 seconds (faster ticks). That makes Rapier Dreyfus a cheap, complete enabler for any DoT/Bleed/Shock composition.
Rapier skill breakdown (from in-game data)
- NormalPiercing Sting
Filler combo between casts (9% / 10% / 16% / 27%).
- FirstSting Breaker
83%; the final strike inflicts 1 Weaken stack for 40 sec (Weaken: +5% DoT taken, max 5).
- SecondPiercing Lightning
140%; restores 150 Tag Gauge per Weaken stack on the enemy.
- TagFlash Drop
Each hit inflicts 2 Weaken stacks for 40 sec when attacking a Shocked or Bleeding enemy.
- UltimateLight Bomber
161%; Stuns the enemy for 8 sec when Weaken reaches max stacks.
- PassiveLacerating Strike
+15% DoT for all allied heroes; attacking a Shocked or Bleeding enemy decreases the DoT interval by 20% for 15 sec.
One-Handed Sword — the Pride-punishing Earth bruiser
The self-amplifying path: apply Pride, reset on Pride targets, and a heavy Earth Ultimate.
One-Handed Sword turns Dreyfus into an Earth Attacker built around the Pride debuff. Terra Slash deals 162% and inflicts Pride for 10 seconds — while Pride is up, the caster deals 20% more damage to that target. Earth Blade deals 256% and, crucially, its cooldown drops by 50% when it hits a Pride-affected enemy, so once Pride is applied the path chains its big hit far more often. His Ultimate, Earth Break, deals 400% and adds +50% damage to Petrified enemies.
The path is amplified by the passive Grandmaster's Honor: attacking an enemy with Earth Burst active increases damage by 20%. Stacked with the Pride +20% from Terra Slash and the Petrify bonus on Earth Break, One-Handed Sword Dreyfus is a self-amplifying Earth bruiser that loves an Earth-Burst / Petrify setup around it.
One-Handed Sword skill breakdown (from in-game data)
- NormalEarth Slash
Filler combo between casts (26% / 31% / 53%).
- FirstTerra Slash
162%; inflicts Pride for 10 sec (caster deals +20% to that target).
- SecondEarth Blade
256%; cooldown is decreased 50% when attacking a Pride-affected enemy.
- TagAngled Earth Slash
Tag-in hit when you swap Dreyfus into the fight.
- UltimateEarth Break
400%; +50% damage to Petrified enemies.
- PassiveGrandmaster's Honor
Attacking an enemy with Earth Burst active increases damage by 20%.
Lance — the Surge crit Attacker
The crit-snowball path: stack Surge into Enhanced Surge for a guaranteed-crit Ultimate.
Lance is Dreyfus' Holy crit Attacker. Holy Stab deals 148% and has a 15% chance per use to gain 1 Surge stack for 10 seconds — Surge increases Crit Damage by 8% (max 5), and at max stacks it changes to Enhanced Surge for +40% Crit Damage. Sacred Breaker deals 180% and grants 1 Surge stack; attacking an enemy with a Burst active grants an extra Surge stack, so it builds the resource fast. Pillar of Light deals 287% and Stuns enemies for 5 seconds while the hero has Surge.
The payoff is the Ultimate, Light Spear: it deals 424% and results in a guaranteed Critical Hit if the hero has Enhanced Surge — which is then removed. The passive Barrier Crash adds +30% damage when attacking an enemy with a Barrier. The whole path is a crit snowball: keep Surge rolling, bank Enhanced Surge, and dump it into a guaranteed-crit Light Spear.
Lance skill breakdown (from in-game data)
- NormalHoly Stab
Filler combo; 15% chance to gain 1 Surge stack for 10 sec (23% / 25% / 37% / 63%).
- FirstSacred Breaker
180%; grants 1 Surge stack; attacking a Burst-active enemy grants 1 extra Surge stack.
- SecondPillar of Light
287%; Stuns enemies for 5 sec while the hero has Surge.
- TagSpear Fall
Tag-in hit.
- UltimateLight Spear
424%; a guaranteed Critical Hit if the hero has Enhanced Surge (then removed).
- PassiveBarrier Crash
Attacking an enemy with a Barrier increases damage by 30%.
Potential priority
Each path has its own Potential track unlocked with Dreyfus' Potential Points (Exchange Shop, server-capped).
The pattern matches every hero: odd levels (1, 3, 8) are flat Attack / Defense / Max HP — smaller values here because Dreyfus is an SR — and even levels are the meaningful skill amplifiers. Prioritise reaching the amp levels for whichever path you committed to.
Where the value sits
- Rapier first (support) — If you only ascend one path, Rapier gives the most team value at SR cost — the Lacerating Strike +15% team DoT and the Weaken stacking scale your whole DoT core, not just Dreyfus.
- One-Handed Sword second (self-amplifying) — One-Handed Sword needs only a Pride application from its own Terra Slash to enable the Earth Blade cooldown reset and the 400% Earth Break — the strongest solo Attacker payoff.
- Lance last (conditional) — Only worth deep investment if you can keep Surge generation rolling into Enhanced Surge; otherwise the guaranteed-crit Light Spear stays offline.
Weapon and gear direction
Dreyfus' compatible weapons and what their passives reward.
Dreyfus' universal pick is Black Flame Wings (activating a Burst → +28% Attack and +6% Crit Chance for 10 sec), available across his weapon types. On a budget SR, Crimson Flame (Burst → +28% Attack) and Jet-black (Ultimate → 20% chance of +50% Crit Chance for 7 sec) are strong, accessible options — Jet-black is especially good on the Lance Surge-crit path. Thorn of Greed (+7% damage to enemies taking DoT) pairs naturally with the Rapier DoT support path. Note Gluttonous Soul grants off-element effects per weapon type (Wind on Rapier, Darkness on the Longsword) — read the variant before slotting it.
Notable compatible weapons (data-listed)
- Black Flame Wings — Activating a Burst → +28% Attack and +6% Crit Chance for 10 sec. The universal pick across his weapon types.
- Crimson Flame — Activating a Burst → +28% Attack for 10 sec — a strong, accessible option on every path.
- Jet-black — Using the Ultimate Move → 20% chance of +50% Crit Chance for 7 sec; excellent on the Lance Surge-crit path.
- Thorn of Greed — Increases damage dealt to enemies taking DoT by 7% — a natural pick on the Rapier DoT support path.
- Blazing — Attacking an enemy at 100%+ remaining HP increases their damage taken by 20% for 20 sec — strong opener pressure.
Costumes
Dreyfus ships with the default grade-3 Kingdom Sword Art Instructor costume, a grade-4 skin Royal Butler, and two grade-5 skins in the data: Old Soldier's Honor and Simple Attire. His data lists no weapon costumes — only these character costumes are available.
Best teammates
Dreyfus' own Combined-Attack base is 400% — he is an SR, not the carry the combo is built around. The numbers below are each partner's Combined-Attack damage as listed in his data; pair him with a high-payload carry whose damage his DoT amplification or Pride debuff supports.

FAQ
- Which Dreyfus weapon should I build first?
- Rapier for most accounts — it is the cheapest way to add team value: the Lacerating Strike passive gives all allied heroes +15% DoT, and Sting Breaker / Flash Drop stack Weaken (+5% DoT taken per stack, max 5). Build One-Handed Sword if you want a self-amplifying Earth Attacker, and Lance only if you can keep Surge rolling into Enhanced Surge for the guaranteed-crit Light Spear.
- Is Dreyfus worth building as an SR?
- Yes for his team value. He is free and cheap to ascend, and the Rapier path's +15% team DoT plus Weaken stacking scale your whole DoT core while you build toward premium SSRs. One-Handed Sword is a respectable self-amplifying Earth Attacker. He is not an endgame damage headliner.
- What does the Lance path's Surge do?
- Surge increases Crit Damage by 8% and stacks up to 5 times; at max stacks it becomes Enhanced Surge for +40% Crit Damage. Sacred Breaker and Holy Stab build Surge, and the Ultimate Light Spear is a guaranteed Critical Hit if the hero has Enhanced Surge — which is then consumed.
- Who is Dreyfus' best Combined-Attack partner?
- By the damage values in his data, Drake (461%) is the highest, followed by Meliodas (449%) and King (433%). His own combo base is 400% — Dreyfus is the support/utility piece, so build the combo around a high-payload carry.
- What does his world passive do?
- One-Shot Breaker marks nearby minerals and improves mining efficiency — an exploration/gathering convenience for the open world. It has no combat effect and does not change his damage.
