Clotho SSR
The riddling scholar — one hero, three completely different kits.
Clotho is the Version 1.3 SSR who, like every three-weapon hero, is really three units sharing one slot. Rapier turns her into a Wind-Burst Rift engine, Book makes her an Ice team Warden built on Runestones, and Staff is a self-amplifying Crit-zone carry. This guide reads every line of her in-game data so you know exactly which Clotho to bring.

Should you build Clotho?
Clotho is one of the most role-flexible heroes in the game because her three weapons cover three different jobs. Rapier is a Wind-Burst specialist that builds Burst Gauge fast and chains a two-stage Rift debuff. Book is a genuine Warden: she hands the whole team Runestones for sustained healing plus a stacking Cold-damage and damage-reduction aura. Staff is a self-sufficient Wind crit carry that builds its own crit zone and an enhanced-attack Awakening state.
If you only invest in one path, Staff is the most self-contained DPS option (it makes its own Crit Chance/Crit Damage zone and ramps its Ultimate on its own). Book is the highest team value but only matters inside an Ice/Cold team that wants her aura and heals. Rapier is the specialist pick: extremely strong in Wind-Burst comps that exploit the Spatial Rift → Dimensional Rift loop, weaker outside them.
Bottom line: Clotho is worth pulling and worth building. Pick the path that fixes a hole in your account — a Wind burster, an Ice support, or a standalone Wind carry — not the one that looks coolest.
Strengths
- Three full kits in one hero — Rapier (Wind Buster), Book (Ice Warden), Staff (Wind Attacker).
- Book passive Frost Rune's Resonance buffs ALL allied heroes: +6% Cold damage and −3% damage taken per Runestone/Rune Ward stack.
- Book's Ultimate upgrades Runestone into Rune Ward — much stronger heals (25% Max HP + 150% Attack) and a bigger Cold aura.
- Rapier reliably builds Burst Gauge and chains Spatial Rift → Dimensional Rift for heavy Wind-Burst damage windows.
- Staff makes its own Crit zone (+20% Crit Chance, +40% Crit Damage) and an Ultimate Awakening that ramps enhanced normals up to 1176%.
- World passive Spatial Fracture is a free teleport-to-safety tool for hard mechanics.
Weaknesses
- Building all three paths is expensive — most accounts realistically commit to one.
- Rapier is comp-dependent: its payoff needs a Wind-Burst team to trigger Dimensional Rift consistently.
- Book is dead weight outside an Ice/Cold team — its whole value is a Cold-scaling team aura.
- Long skill cooldowns and high Magic costs on Book (First Skill 29.1s / 223 MP) demand disciplined rotation.
- Her in-game data ships no Combined-Attack pairings yet — plan teams from real community comps, not a fixed combo list.
Weapon paths
Clotho swaps the entire kit with the weapon you equip. Pick the path that matches the team you are building.
Rapier
A Wind-Burst engine. Builds Burst Gauge fast and chains a two-stage Rift debuff that amplifies Wind damage.
- Passive Rift Inscription: 5 hits → Spatial Rift (−20% Wind Burst Resistance) for 20 sec.
- A Wind Burst on a Spatial-Rift target consumes it → Dimensional Rift for 15 sec (Wind crit DoT every 2 sec).
- First Skill is a Burst-Gauge generator — far more gauge against Spatial-Rift targets.
- Ultimate Rune Inscription: Collapse — 342%, crits and +20% Wind damage received on Dimensional-Rift targets.
Book
An Ice/Cold team Warden built on Runestones — sustained healing plus a stacking team-wide Cold buff.
- Grants all allies Runestone: on-hit heals (10% Max HP + 60% Attack), and at max stacks +Cold damage / +Cold ATK.
- Passive Frost Rune's Resonance: +6% Cold damage and −3% damage taken to ALL allies per Runestone/Rune Ward.
- Ultimate upgrades Runestone → Rune Ward: 25% Max HP + 150% Attack heals, +20% Cold damage aura.
- Frost Rune: Deployment can Freeze enemies hit 5 times.
Staff
A self-amplifying Wind crit carry: makes its own Crit zone and an enhanced-attack Awakening state.
- Dimensional Enhancement: a 15 sec zone granting +20% Crit Chance and +40% Crit Damage.
- Ultimate Dimensional Domination: 12 sec Awakening, enhanced normals up to 1176%, ramping Crit Damage.
- Dimensional Wave pulls enemies and applies Dimensional Erosion (−10% Crit Defense).
- Passive Dimension Rune's Resonance: +25% Wind damage per Wave/Tear cast, up to +75%.
Rapier — the Wind-Burst Rift engine
A specialist that turns Burst Gauge generation and a two-stage Rift debuff into big Wind-Burst windows.
The Rapier identity is the Rift loop. The passive Rift Inscription applies Spatial Rift after 5 hits (−20% Wind Burst Resistance); landing a Wind Burst on a Spatial-Rift target consumes it and applies Dimensional Rift, a 15-second Wind critical damage-over-time that detonates for a large hit when it ends. Her First Skill is built to feed this — it is a Burst-Gauge generator that pays out far more gauge against Spatial-Rift targets, so the kit fuels its own Burst windows.
Because the whole engine is gated behind landing Wind Bursts, the Rapier wants a Wind-Burst team around it. In the right comp it is one of the strongest Wind specialists; outside one, the Rift chain stalls and the path underperforms — build it on purpose.
Rapier skill breakdown (from in-game data)
- NormalInscription Barrage
Standard combo; the cheapest way to keep stacking hits toward Spatial Rift.
- FirstInscription Chase: Piercing Chain
Stance: immune to Reactions, ticks damage and generates Burst Gauge every 3 hits — vastly more (up to +200) against Spatial-Rift targets.
- SecondStorm Slash
151%; against a Dimensional-Rift target, removes the stack for 3 extra critical hits (50% Attack each).
- TagInscription Flurry
Tag-in hit when you swap Clotho into the fight.
- UltimateRune Inscription: Collapse
342%; on Dimensional-Rift targets it crits and adds +20% Wind damage received for 30 sec — a team-wide Wind amp.
- PassiveRift Inscription
5 hits → Spatial Rift (−20% Wind Burst Res). Wind Burst on a Spatial-Rift target → Dimensional Rift (Wind crit DoT + detonation).
Book — the Ice team Warden
Not a solo carry. This path exists to keep an Ice/Cold team alive and hitting much harder.
The reason to run Book is the passive Frost Rune's Resonance: every Runestone or Rune Ward stack on the team grants all allied heroes +6% Cold damage and −3% damage taken. Clotho's job is to keep those stacks up — her Normal Attack and First Skill hand Runestones to the whole team, providing on-hit heals (10% Max HP + 60% Attack) and, at max stacks, extra Cold damage and Cold ATK.
Her Ultimate, Frost Rune: Perfect Form, is the payoff: it grants Rune Awakening, upgrading Runestone into Rune Ward — far stronger heals (25% Max HP + 150% Attack) and a bigger +20% Cold-damage aura. She also brings hard control: Frost Rune: Deployment can Freeze enemies. Outside an Ice/Cold team this path is a trap; build it deliberately as a support core.
Book skill breakdown (from in-game data)
- NormalRune Projection
Every 5 hits grants the team a Runestone stack (max 3) — the engine for the team aura and heals.
- FirstFrost Rune: Cluster Ritual
Immune to Reactions while casting; instantly grants the whole team max Runestone stacks for 30 sec.
- SecondFrost Rune: Deployment
76%; with Rune Awakening it becomes a 2.5 sec field that Freezes enemies hit 5 times.
- TagFrost Rune: Crushing Impact
Tag-in hit.
- UltimateFrost Rune: Perfect Form
Rune Awakening for 30 sec: upgrades Runestone → Rune Ward (25% Max HP + 150% Attack heals, +20% Cold damage aura).
- PassiveFrost Rune's Resonance
+6% Cold damage and −3% damage taken to ALL allied heroes per Runestone or Rune Ward stack.
Staff — the self-amplifying crit carry
A standalone Wind DPS that builds its own Crit zone and an enhanced-attack Awakening state.
Staff is the most self-contained path. Dimensional Enhancement drops a 15-second zone that gives Clotho +20% Crit Chance and +40% Crit Damage on its own — no external support required. Her Ultimate, Dimensional Domination, enters Dimensional Awakening: enhanced Normal Attacks scale up to 1176% of Attack, every hit ramps their Crit Damage and shortens her Normal Skill cooldown, so the longer the Awakening runs the harder it hits.
Dimensional Wave pulls enemies together and applies Dimensional Erosion (−10% Crit Defense), and the passive Dimension Rune's Resonance stacks up to +75% Wind damage from repeated zone casts. It is the path to pick when you just want a Wind carry that works without a dedicated shell.
Staff skill breakdown (from in-game data)
- NormalDimensional Projection
Standard combo between zone casts and Awakening windows.
- FirstDimensional Enhancement
Creates a 15 sec zone: +20% Crit Chance and +40% Crit Damage while inside. Recast relocates it.
- SecondDimensional Wave
Pull field; overlapping Dimensional Pulse zones trigger Dimensional Fissure and apply Dimensional Erosion (−10% Crit Defense).
- TagDimensional Breach
Tag-in hit.
- UltimateDimensional Domination
12 sec Dimensional Awakening: enhanced normals up to 1176%, ramping Crit Damage and cutting Normal Skill cooldown.
- PassiveDimension Rune's Resonance
+25% Wind damage for 20 sec each time Dimensional Wave/Tear is cast (max +75%).
Potential priority
Each path has its own Potential track unlocked with Clotho's Potential Points (Exchange Shop, server-capped).
Across all three paths the pattern is the same: odd levels (1, 3, 8) are flat Attack / Defense / Max HP, while even levels are the meaningful skill amplifiers. You feel the jumps at the amp levels, so prioritise reaching them.
What the amp levels actually do (per data)
- Rapier — Lv2 Special Attack +30%, Lv4 Ultimate +20%, Lv6 resets Normal Skill CD and +60% Normal Skill/Ultimate on Wind Burst, Lv9 Ultimate +50%, Lv10 each Ultimate hit adds 33% Attack and shreds Wind Defense (max 10).
- Book — Lv2 Normal +50%, Lv4 Normal Skill +30%, Lv7 +3 max Rune Ward stacks, Lv9 +15% Defense Shatter if all Cold allies hold a stack, Lv10 Special Attack grants all allies +40% Cold Attack for 30 sec.
- Staff — Lv2 Tag +50%, Lv4 Normal Skill +40%, Lv6 +10%/sec enhanced-attack damage in Awakening (max 10) + Reaction immunity, Lv9 enhanced Normal +45%, Lv10 +6 sec Awakening and −30% damage taken while attacking.
Weapon and gear direction
Clotho's compatible grade-5 weapons and what their passives reward.
On the Rapier path, the most kit-coherent grade-5 option is the Gluttonous Soul Rapier: using the Special Attack grants +10% Wind Burst Efficiency and +40% Crit Damage for 10 sec — both stats the Rapier kit is built around (Burst Gauge and the crit-heavy Rift detonations). Black Flame Wings is the universal burst-window weapon (+28% Attack and +6% Crit Chance for 10 sec on Burst). For Staff and Book, the budget grade-4 picks Crimson Flame (Burst → +28% Attack) and Jet-black (20% chance +50% Crit Chance on Ultimate) are strong stand-ins.
Notable compatible weapons (data-listed)
- Gluttonous Soul Rapier (g5) — Special Attack → +10% Wind Burst Efficiency and +40% Crit Damage for 10 sec. Best-in-kit synergy for the Rapier path.
- Black Flame Wings (g5) — Activating a Burst → +28% Attack and +6% Crit Chance for 10 sec. Available for Rapier, Book and Staff.
- Crimson Flame (g4) — Activating a Burst → +28% Attack for 10 sec — a strong budget option on every path.
- Jet-black (g4) — Using the Ultimate Move → 20% chance of +50% Crit Chance for 7 sec; pairs well with the Staff crit zone.
Costumes
Clotho ships with the default Explorer's Uniform costume and three grade-5 skins in the data: Light Party Outfit, Explorer's Activewear and Dawn Moon's Play. Her exclusive weapon costume is Sacred Sword Sephiora, a grade-5 weapon skin.

FAQ
- Which Clotho weapon should I build first?
- Staff if you want a standalone Wind carry — it builds its own Crit zone and Awakening with no support needed. Book if your account needs an Ice/Cold team Warden (its whole value is the team Cold aura and heals). Rapier only if you run a Wind-Burst team that can exploit the Spatial Rift → Dimensional Rift loop.
- Is the Book path good?
- Inside an Ice/Cold team it is excellent: Frost Rune's Resonance gives every ally +6% Cold damage and −3% damage taken per Runestone/Rune Ward, plus strong heals that scale up on her Ultimate. Outside a Cold team it does almost nothing — it is a build-around support, not a default.
- What is the Spatial Rift / Dimensional Rift loop?
- On Rapier, hitting an enemy 5 times applies Spatial Rift (−20% Wind Burst Resistance). Landing a Wind Burst on that target consumes Spatial Rift and applies Dimensional Rift — a 15-second Wind critical damage-over-time that detonates for a big hit when it ends. Her Ultimate and Storm Slash are designed to be spent inside that window.
- Does Clotho have Combined-Attack partners?
- Her in-game data ships no Combined-Attack pairings at the time of writing, so this guide does not list a fixed combo set. Use the live community teams below to see which compositions players actually run her in.
- What does her world passive do?
- Spatial Fracture summons a clone at a chosen spot and lets her teleport back to it for a limited time. It is a pure mobility/safety tool for dodging hard mechanics — it does not change her damage.
